Onida MO30CJS28B 30 Ltr Convection Microwave Oven

My old Reconnect microwave finally broke down after 3 and a half years. It had already got rusted from inside. So decided to buy a new one.nnChose this one as it was bigger (30L), had lots of indian auto cook menu and was within my budget. Flipkart delivered within two days (five stars to them). A starter kit (From ruchi) and a cookbook (Very useful) was given as free gift. Starter kit contains idli maker,bowls , omlet maker etc. quality not so good, but hey, it's free.nnNow coming to the Microwave, it looks beautiful. mirror finish, designer handle, BIGG colorful display panel. it came with a crispy plate inside (big enamel quoted plate for cooking baking etc). i could not find a grill (I got one with my previous oven).nnPros- Big space inside, Stainless steel cavity (Hopefully no more rust), long electric cable.nnCons- n1. No ready "defrosting" button. No defrosting even in auto cook menu. Company wants you to defrost manually and remember the time needed to defrost the required weight. So now, for defrosting you have to decrease the microwave power to 20% and then open the instruction manual or remember how much time required to defrost 500 Grm meat!!!! Phew....nin other much low cost microwaves you get a defrost button and weight setting button to do this easy job easily.My mom really got frustrated within two days with such tedious process. nn2. There is no use of such an elaborate display. it shows all auto cook menu "headers" only. for example if you need to make poha for breakfast you have to select breakfast option first from the list with the help of jog dial and then you need to see the manual anyway for "sub correspondence no" for Poha. As in breakfast or any other menu you get 20-21 recepies which do not get displayed in the machine, you either remember it or refer manual each time. Then whats the use of such a big display with categories when the actual recepie cannot be selected directly.nInstead, they could have just assign one one number for each recepie. for example poha 32, chicken grill-46, Pizza - 123, etc. It is easy to remember and not complicated. The categories and sub-categories makes it difficult to use, specially for aged people.nn3. The weight cannot be changed for any auto cook menu. For example - if you are making chicken masala in auto cook, you have to make 250 Grms only, you cannot make less, cannot make more, It doesnot allow to set weight in autocook. Moreover,the weight given for each item in auto cook in manual is very less. It does not make sense of buying a 30 L microwave if you can only make 250 grams of chicken in autocook !!!! In most of the other ovens you can choose weight in auto cook, and they calculate time accordingly.nn4. Calorie Meter - the most useless function. It does not show the real time calorie of the food you are preparing, instead it shows the fixed assumed calorie already fixed in the machine for auto cook. I can see the same in manual as well while setting the complicated category and sub category. why there is a need to display this is beyond my understanding!!!!nnSo basically it is a big normal oven with complicated and useless functions. the built quality is good, it heats food quickly. but don't except anything extra from it.

Worse product.. Bought this in the month of may and today its magnetron is dead.. don't buy this even the after sales service is worse.. You have to call the tech guy continuously to come to your house and check it. nnI would have given a Zero star but 1 is the least I can select.
