Here is a full review of the OPPO Reno6 powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset
Jul 29 2021 By Kshitij PujariThe OPPO Reno6 brings in a unique design to the segment. Its display and battery charging speeds are great, but are already present on cheaper options. The performance is decent enough, but again there are faster alternatives in the market with better gaming capabilities. Overall, the phone seems to be quite capable, but is priced on the higher side. The lowdownI`m really impressed with the iPhone 12-esque flat edges and matte finish on the Reno6, which give it a distinctive look amon
Read Full ReviewDisplay is the best part of this phone and eye catching look, Good quality sound output, camera not as good as expected, but descent 👍 bokeh flare portrait vedio is average... 65W fast charging is a beast 👌 but i''am disappointed with the battery performance ; it's draining fast 😣nnOver all good
I'm writing this review after using the phone for 2 weeks. I have been using sub 15,000 phones and was pretty happy with the performances by far. I was always puzzled by expensive phones and what they could offer above and beyond. My sibling uses an iPhone and honestly apart from photos, there is nothing that phone could do which my humble 15K phone couldn't. For photographs too, I have a DSLR and that blows the iPhone completely out of water if we are comparing photo quality. Coming to Oppo Reno 6, the marketing got me this time and I spent 30K getting this phone. The specs on paper looked good though not as good as Nord 2. I liked the metal body and the overall design of the phone. Now after 15 days of use, I'm in a position to give an honest review. I'll be comparing it with my older phone which costed me 12K when I purchased it 3 years back. During this time, I faced no lag or any other problem with that phone. I purchased a new phone simply because I wanted a new shiny thing. This phone has an AMOLED display, 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. It has marginally better colors than my old phone which had an IPS display. It was full HD and therefore if I talk about display quality, there is an improvement of 10% with the new phone. Just about 10% better. Coming to the camera, the main camera on back is good with good color reproduction. There is an improvement of 15% if I compare it with my older phone. The selfie camera is sub-par and fails to capture details. It washes over everything with white. If you have a light color wall, it will come as white. I don't play games on mobile because I like to play them on either Xbox or PC, so I cannot comment on that aspect. The normal communication and productivity apps run fine as they used to do on my older phone. No improvement there. You can talk about AnTutu score and what not but in practical use, there is no discernible advantage. The phone supports 5G and since 5G is still not out in India, we get 4G+ on this phone. I ran a speedtest and got around 60Mbps speed with 4G+. With normal 4G, the speeds cap out at around 15-20 Mbps. It supports NFC which is good to have (for payments) but I prefer UPI which is more convenient. This phone doesn't have Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) which should be included at this price range. If there is OIS in a phone, the video output is more stable and it is better for your eyes than watching a video with all the frame movement. You can expect a screen on time of 4-6 hours with this phone. The battery backup is strictly average although the charging speed is top class. It charges the phone in about 30 minutes. Overall, I found that practically there is just no advantage of taking an expensive phone. A good 15K phone will do everything you want. This doesn't mean that the more expensive phones are not worth it. They might be worth it for some people. For people like me, not at all. I have a laptop for my office work, a gaming rig for gaming, a DSLR for taking pictures, a big TV for watching youtube and movies. I prefer those devices over a phone if I really want quality. If I value convenience, a 15K phone will just do fine. For some, a phone is a replacement for all these devices. To each their own.
