Panasonic NR-A195RMP 190 Ltr Side-by-Side Refrigerator

I got this refrigerator for 9900 and at that price it is value for money. Buy this only if you get it under 10000. I am also a little brand concious and I would go for a japanese brand than chinese Haier. Now pros and cons.nnPros:n1) size of 190 l is good enough for bachelors or a small family. If you are a family of 3 or more you are better of buying something of 220 l. The size fits me perfectly though i hoped something a little larger.nn2) Looks are good, decent or sober. This is more of a no frills proposition but at its price point it is good.nn3) Cooling is fast, well distributed which is uncommon in direct cooling refrigerators. Due to the season and less usage I have set it at 2 position. At 9 it cools and makes ice in minutes.nn4) Energy efficient - at least on paper it gives a 3 star rating according to the new system. Acc. to older system it would be 4 stars. That is good for a direct cooling refrigerator.nn5) No. of shelves 2 and one crisper and chill tray. it is avg.One egg stand for 6 eggs, and 1 ice cube mould.nn6) Extremely good balancing with screwing out function to balance on uneven floor. Where i live it is uneven flooring. But the refrigerator stands firm after i balanced its stands by screwing them out. (It might be present in other refrigerators also, but this is my first one and hopefully the last).nnCons.nn1) Sound: biggest con of this refrigerator. I was tempted to call the service center but I see other users have also faced this issue. It will not disturb you unless you sleep next to it but at times it is unnerving. But I guess it has more to do with me living alone with virtually no sound at all. I am getting used to The sound.nn2) Water collection in case of defrost occurs in a container located at the back. It is difficult to open it as it is held by a screw. It might be just me but the last refrigerator I had had a sliding out system for the collector. nn3) Only one color : For people who are color concious might not like it. For me it is just fine. nnConclusion: I am satisfied with the product, more so because it meets my budget as well as expectation. However before buying please understand your requirements and do some market research. Read the buyers guide on this website. Kelvinator 190 l it is good alternative at a similar price points. I have recieved extremely bad remarks from Haier users but do your own research.

The door hinges are weak, because they're made of plastic. If you put water bottles on the door slots, the hinges will break. The service guy told us that it was a regular problem.nnAfter the hinge broke, the fridge became useless as cooling dropped, even after door was repaired.nnAvoid it. Also, if you go for 190L fridges, make sure to check the hinges as apparently many different brands are having the fridge manufactured from same place, so they all share this problem.
