How to block a website?

    There might surely be some reason that you might want to block some websites. They might be spying, spreading viruses or may contain explicit content.  It is easy to block such websites and following are the steps to block website on different devices.

    On Windows Computer

    1. Login with the Administrator privileges account.
    2. Go to "C:WindowsSystem32driversetc"
    3. Double click on file "hosts" and open using "Notepad". 
      (In case you don't have rights, provide full-control to your account from properties)
    4. At the end of the file just add a name of your website with 127.0.0.1.

    5. Add names of all websites you wish to block. 
    6. "Save" the file and "Reboot" your system.

    On Mac

    1. Login with the Administrator privileges account.
    2. Open the Terminal. (Under /Applications/Utilities/Terminal)
    3. Type sudo nano /etc/hosts and press "Enter".
    4. Enter the password when prompted.
    5. At the end of the file just add a name of your website with 127.0.0.1.
      (This will redirect the website to localhost)
    6. Add names of all websites you wish to block. 
    7. Press "Ctrl+X" and then "Y" to save your changes. 
    8. Now, Enter the command "sudo dscacheutil -flushcache" and press "Enter".
    9. Reboot your system.


    On Your iPhone/iPad

    1. Go to Settings > General > Restrictions.
    2. Tap on "Enable Restrictions" and enter your "Passcode".
    3. Scroll down to "Websites" and choose to limit adult content or allow access to specific websites only. 
    4. Tap on "Add a website" under "Always Allow" to always allow access despite of it in "deemed objectionable site" when "limit adult content" is chosen.
    5. Block a website by putting it under "Never Allow"

    6. You can access the blocked website on the go by entering the passcode.


    On Android

    1. You need "ES File Explorer" for the process. (Download and install ES File Explorer).
    2. From Left pane, Go to Local>>Device>>System>>etc.
    3. Open up "hosts" file with ES Note Editor.
    4. At the end of the file just add a name of your website with 127.0.0.1.
      (This will redirect the website to localhost)
    5. Add names of all websites you wish to block. 
    6. Reboot your phone.
