4 reasons to buy Vivo X200T and 3 reasons not to

The Vivo X200T has been launched in India and is now available for sale via Flipkart. The handset is positioned in the premium mid-range segment, which has increasingly shifted its focus away from raw performance gains towards more practical improvements such as battery endurance, faster charging, longer software support, and refined user experience. The detailed analysis of the device can be read in our full review. Here, we briefly highlight where the smartphone excels and where it falls short. Before we get to that, it is worth highlighting that the Vivo X200T price in India starts at Rs 59,999.

At the same price, buyers can consider the Motorola Signature (review), which offers more headline-grabbing specifications, or the OPPO Reno15 Pro Mini (review), known for its 200MP primary camera. Despite the stiff competition, the Vivo X200T manages to carve out a distinct position in the premium mid-range segment, and here are the reasons to buy and not to buy it.

Reasons to buy Vivo X200T

Bright, punchy display

The Vivo X200T sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, which is a visual highlight. The display gets exceptionally bright, making outdoor visibility a non-issue, and the 120Hz refresh rate keeps everything fluid. Moreover, colours are vibrant without looking washed out, and HDR content looks rich and immersive across streaming apps. While it lacks Dolby Vision, HDR10 support is implemented well enough that most users won’t feel short-changed.

Smooth, reliable performance

Powered by the Dimensity 9400+, the X200T feels fast and responsive in daily tasks. App launches are quick, multitasking is seamless, and animations remain smooth throughout prolonged use. While it may not top benchmark charts, the performance difference isn’t instantly noticeable in everyday usage. For the vast majority of users, the phone feels every bit as premium as more expensive flagships.

Polished software with deep customisation

The Vivo X200T’s custom Android skin, OriginOS 6, feels mature and well-optimised. Animations are smooth, stability is solid, and there’s no noticeable lag or stutter. Vivo also offers extensive customisation options, particularly for the lockscreen and interface elements, which power users will appreciate. Long-term support is reassuring too, with five years of Android updates and two additional years of security patches.

Impressive battery life with fast charging

The Vivo X200T packs a 6,200mAh battery, which is among the largest you’ll find in a premium smartphone right now. And it delivers as well. Even with navigation, gaming sessions, social media scrolling, and streaming mixed into the day, the phone comfortably lasts from morning to night with battery to spare. For lighter users, it can easily stretch into a second day.

Backing up that large battery is Vivo’s 90W FlashCharge, which fully charges the device in under an hour. Furthermore, the inclusion of 40W wireless charging adds convenience.

Reasons not buy Vivo X200T

Cameras favour aesthetics over accuracy

While the camera system is versatile on paper and is capable output crisp details, the output leans heavily towards a stylised look. Images are contrast-heavy, colours can feel cooler than reality, and portrait shots often apply noticeable beautification. This makes photos look attractive at a glance, but those who prefer natural tones and faithful skin textures may find the results disappointing.

Moreover, the ultrawide sensor is clearly the least impressive part of the setup. It struggles with distortion control, loses fine detail, and doesn’t always match colours with the main camera. Competing phones offer more consistent and reliable ultrawide performance, especially for landscape and architectural shots.

No LTPO panel

While Vivo X200T delivers a fabulous display for its price, it isn’t the most power-efficient. You see, the smartphone comes with a regular display instead of an LTPO-type, which can dynamically adjust refresh rate, dropping it to as low as 1Hz, to save some battery. It’s a bummer that even the more affordable Vivo X200 FE comes with the LTPO display.

This was apparent in the usage, where the Vivo X200T’s battery dropped a similar percentage as the Motorola Signature, which comes with a smaller 5,200mAh battery but offers an LTPO panel, while playing games such as BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile.
