Display and design

The Samsung Gear 2 smartwatch has a 1.63-inch 320 x 320 pixels resolution Super AMOLED display. The device is dustproof and water resistant with IP7 certification and comes with noise cancellation feature. It arrives with changeable straps enabling you to chose from Charcoal Black, Gold Brown and Wild Orange. It's dimensions are 36.9 x 58.4 x 10mm and weighs 68g.

Platform, connectivity and others

The Gear 2 drops Android and operates on Tizen operating system which, according to Samsung is more flexible and user friendly. Bluetooth call, notification (SMS, Email, apps), media controller, schedule are a few built-in apps along with a range of useful downloadable apps like flashlight, ChatON etc. For connectivity, it has Bluetooth v4.0 LE and Ir LED. 

Memory, processor and fitness apps

The Samsung device is packed by 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM for good performance. It has 4GB of inbuilt storage. The Gear 2 is loaded with many fitness apps like pedometer, heart rate sensors, exercise modes (standalone and companion modes) for running, walking, cycling and hiking, sleep & stress. The smartwatch is fuelled by a 300mAh li-ion battery for 2 to 3 days of typical usage or 6 days on low usage.
