The Samsung Galaxy On5 delivers enough to please regular users
Dec 09 2015 By Deeksha KoliThe Samsung Galaxy On5 offers a mix of good and, well… `meh`. The good being its subtle yet stylish design, a capable pair of shooters and amazing battery life. The `meh` part comprises an average display and performance. Considering the price tag, the phone competes with the likes of YU Yuphoria (review) and Lenovo Vibe P1m (first impressions). While the YU Yuphoria offers extremely customisable CyanogenMod ROM, decent cameras and uber-stylish looks, it lacks in terms of battery life. The Lenovo Vibe P1m has a 4,000mAh battery, while rest of its specs stand almost similar to those of On5`s. If one-handed usage is not an absolute necessity, the On5 faces competition from the Coolpad Note 3 (review), which rocks a fingerprint scanner, and a large 5.5-inch display. The Samsung Galaxy On5 does stand as a worthy competitor in the sub- Rs 10,000 segment. As far as regular usage is concerned, the phone doesn`t really do anything to displease you, and hence, it is worth considering for the price, especially if you’re looking for a compact device for easy one-handed use.
Read Full ReviewI purchased this phone and you know what I got 2 times returned product, means two people already used the phone, and I'm the third one using it, I know that from a phons's plastic cover, it had got three sticker with diffrent numbers/codes on it, and there was three seals on the box, and that's that's why I hate online shopping.... nnIf I'm paying full money then why they are giving me some used product, no wonder I bought that from sale that was on 21-22 Jan, so that's how they work, on sales they sell returned products and one returned product stock's out then then they say stock out and after sale they sell unused product with higher price...... nnThis thing happened to me for two time one is this one and second happened to me with ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser ZE550KL...... that does't got the seal on, I realised that later when I saw a Unboxing video on YouTube.... nnThey circumstance was not favorable I Bought this phone phone ( SAMSUNG Galaxy On 5) for my father and he was just leaving the out of town when phone delivered, and previous phone hanged a lot, so because of lack of time I didn't have any other option to live with that Used product......... nnFlipkart has done that twice to me, and now I have taken pride not to buy anything from here at least phones from Flipkart especially on sales, no matter whatever the price is....nOne advice I can give is that Just go for Amazon,z Beacuse SnapDeal is also same like Flipkart....nnOr the best go to market and buy a real, genuine and Un-used product, but with high price, but at least you can sleep tension free, purchasing from market..... nAnyways talking about Phone It's good and most important It's Samsung.....nbut If the ram would have 2 GB then that would be like "sprinkles on the sundae".... But Thats Samsung they have phobia of making anything perfect....
Initial Review:nnWhat I liked:n+ SAR Value of 0.551 W/Kg. n+ 5" large screen looks great inspite of TFT display.n+ Excellent Camera - Front and Back.n+ Decent performance, no lag noticed so far.n+ Android 5.1n+ Good build quality with premium finish.n+ No bloatware.nnWhat I didn't like:n- Average Speaker. Wish it was louder, crisper and in the front.n- No Notification light. Why Samsung why?n- No Ambient Light Sensor.n- A little expensive considering the Redmi 2 is available for Rs. 5999.nnIf you are big on music, the speaker quality will disappoint you. No excuse for not adding notification light and better quality speaker for the price. nnRedmi 2 is a superior VFM phone, but since I as buying it for my father - the low SAR value was a big selling point including the big screen and the Samsung brand value.
