The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 flaunts an 8-inch multi-touch LCD display, which offers a screen resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels. The tablet comes protected against water and dust with an IP68 rating display on offer. It is offered in a classic black shade, featuring a rugged and rubberized body to survive a fall from a 1.2-metre height. The tablet offers a fingerprint sensor embedded within the home button. It is the first Samsung tablet to feature a Bixby, which is an artificial voice assistant. Moreover, it also features a stylus pen with touch sensitivity and a POGO pin for connecting third-party accessories.
Configuration, Storage and Camera
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core processor, which sits on the Exynos 7 Octa 7870 chipset. The 3GB RAM present in the device aids the processor to deliver good performance during multi-tasking. It runs on Android v7.1.1 (nougat) operating system. For photography and videography, it comes stacked with an 8 MP rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5 MP front camera. On the storage ground, the device comes equipped with an in-built memory of 16GB. The storage can be expanded up to 256GB by using a memory chip inside the available dedicated memory slot.
Battery and Connectivity
The smartphone is backed by a massive 4,450mAh Li-ion battery, which claims to provide a good backup to the device and keeps you engaged for hours. On the networking and connectivity front, it features a Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot feature, 4G VoLTE, a Bluetooth v 4.2, a C-type USB port, a GPS and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors like Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Compass and Gyroscope make the device smarter and user-friendly.
