A DSLR quality camera that fits in your pocket

I dont have this model but the NEX-6 which is a semi professional camera, that far exceeds the performance of Cannon and Nikon Entry level DSLRs. If you value performance over looks, this is the camera for you. if you think that your camera is an object for show off, sorry get one of those bulky and unwieldy DSLRs. This mirrorless camera has a fast frame rate of 12 fps which is unheard of in the entry level DSLRs. Also, the APS-C CMOS sensor is well known for its high quality imaging along with the 2nd gen Bionz processor. Its is shy off a 34 mm full frame camera. But then then this is not ment for professional photographers taking wall to wall prints or ad billboard photoshoots. If you don't trust my opinion go to world renowned travel photographer Trey Ratcliff - http://www.stuckincustoms.com/trey-ratcliff/ He has several portfolios taken with a NEX7 the top variant of this line. It should be noted that all the variants in this range has the same sensor, optics etc. It is basically in features that they differ. For e.g. my NEX 6 has a OLED view finder, extra flash minolta compatible flash mount and a more rugged built body. and the Nex 7 adds new dial controls and a full metal body. This camera has excellent video capture characteristics at full HD 1080p and can easily double for a camcorder with the stereo speaker attachment.

Amazing camera. Not just startup, you can take amazing pictures with it.

1. Build : Great build. Tiny body. Light weight. No stress on hand at all. But, not too small to fit in your pocket. Probably without lens it might fit(Ofcourse there's no point in doing that) 2. Absense of Viewfinder. It's good : Yea viewfinder is absent. I know. If you need it, go for DSLR. That's the advantage here. You get a LIVE VIEW of what you are seeing, on the screen. Literally, whatever settings you make to the Aperture, ISO, Shutter, Filters (It has got live filters), you can see how the Image might appear after clicked. Isn't it so easy ? You don't have to guess the aperture or shutter or ISO this time. That burden is off. Also, people say they Screen eats up the battery more than you imagine. I say, Naaaah.. I don't think so. I clicked roughly 500+ pictures, in all conditions with 100% battery before it ran out. And hey, you can always get an extra battery for 10-15USD on Ebay. Original one. I ordered one recently for 28USD (to South america, along with Shipping charges). it includes a battery and a charger as well. Oh Yea, advantage is, You don't have to take the battery out to recharge it. Plug a Micro USB to charge it. You can charge it with your phone's charger, Micro USB connected to an adapter (i use my iPhone's charger adapter) or Micro USB connected to your laptop or PC. (It might sound like a disadvantage that you HAVE to recharge without removing, but it turns out to be an advantage. Trust me) 3. E Mount Lens : E mount lens are damn too costly in the market. If you are looking for buying Loooot of lens, you better have big bucks in your pocket. But, whatever you get on E Mount lens, are of proportionate size to the camera. Tiny and yet powerful. Focusing speed, motor speed, zooming in and out are so fast that you feel so easy. If you reached the budget of 42,000 and selected this camera over other cheaper cameras, You certainly have lot of money anyway and gotten ready to spend on tiny portable lenses. 4. Focus speed : Yes, its got amazing & superb focusing speed. 5. Kit lens - 16 to 55mm, Enough for a starter. Aperture isn't enough though. You wills start wanting more once you get used to it and start shooting in low light conditions. Yea yea you can still use ISO but, Noise? yea. SO, moving on, 6. Removable flash : Removable flash is the best thing ever. you just detach and attach it back when you need(or don't need). Activating flash is just, lifting it up. Lift up to turn on. 7. There are 2 amazing modes which makes regular casual shots much simpler. i and i+ i+ mode is so intelligent that, based on the light, what you are shooting and the level Zoom you are in, it goes to that particular mode. For example, you might have seen Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Night, Back Light modes. I+ detects the situation and changes itself to that particular mode. Shoot in 35mm on a cute girl, it automatically goes to Portrait mode. Try to shoot some random casual scene in 16mm, goes to Landscape with Multi-focus 8. Remote access : Camera creates a Wifi hotspot to allow your phone to remote access the live view of the camera. You can change the white balance, zoom in and out, A, S, ISO etc from the Camera and click the picture from your smartphone. The copy of the picture stores on the phone too (You can change the quailty of image you want the phone to retain. Ofcourse you will get full quality picture on the Camera) 9. NFC - Cool feature you know. If you have a smartphone with NFC in it, you might end up using it a lot.(I own an iPhone. no NFC :( )

Best affordable intermediate level compact system camera

Best compact system camera at this price range .. easy to use and easy to carry around .. can easily be adapted to any manual film slr lenses .. great focus peaking helps focusing perfectly with manual focus lenses .. great burst speed .. best in daytime and good light .. moderate in average light .. struggles focussing in dim indoor without flash attached and raised it on .. focussing near impossible with manual focus lens without efv or lcd viewfinder .. Sony should make external evf fda-ev1s available in India and also lower it's price making it affordable to make this camera a complete system .. Also Sony should lower the price of their e-mount lenses to make them affordable to all e-mount camera owners
