Sony USM8GR USB 2.0 8 GB Pen Drive

Just picked the neatly packed Flipkart delivery. The delivery was 1 day before the promised date, thanks to Flipkart.nnThe Sony PD neither disappointed me nor has anything to get excited. I had a tie between Sandisk Cruzer Ultra and Sony for 8GB PD among which I inclined for Sony expecting better performance. I was amazed by some other reviews about the transfer speed which are not exactly true. Let me place my detailed review of the product :nnFirstly,the size of the PD is bigger than many other competitors but I had to pick it as I preferred performance over looks. The slider has locks such that it doesn't cause any problem while inserting, which is good, atleast for now.nnThe data transfer rates immediately after receiving the PD were :nCopy from PD : avg of 15 mb/s nCopy to PD : avg of 8 mb/snnBut what really concerns me is the transfer speeds were drastically reduced after formatting it. Immediately after I did format the PD in NTFS, the speeds got down to 6mb/s which I feel is good but I'm disappointed at sudden fall of transfer rate after formatting.nnWhile the default format was FAT32, I performed NTFS. To double check, I re-formatted the PD back to its default settings of FAT32 but the transfer speed was at an avg of 5mb/s. Now, thats what any pendrive gives. So, it doesn't really makes sense for me for having inclined to Sony with such a big size. nnI neither recommend this over others nor have a very bad experience but the decline in transfer speed after format is surely a concern to me. I also want to confirm that there are no write speeds of more than 6.5 mb/s after format as against some reviews here which mentioned of 10mb/s speeds. So, please be aware.

This Sony 8gb pen drive is really excellent,read and write speeds are very fast(i am getting 10 to 12MB/sec during file transfers),though it is somewhat bulky in size compared to other drives in the market,it is very sturdy,and at Rs 510 at Flipkart(lowest price in India),its a steal.nFlipkart's service is superb,I received my drive in 2days.
