ASUS has announced the launch of the ASUS Pad in India. This premium Android tablet features a first-of-its-kind 12.2-inch 2.8K dual-layer OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It is available in two models: 8GB plus 128GB priced at Rs 45,990 and 8GB plus 256GB at Rs 49,990. You can purchase it now through Flipkart, ASUS eShop, ASUS and ROG Stores, Reliance Digital, and authorised retail partners.

The dual-layer OLED panel has a resolution of 2800 by 1840 with a 3:2 aspect ratio and a 92% screen-to-body ratio. It offers a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits and achieves 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage. The panel also comes with TUV Low Flicker and Low Blue Light certification. The standout feature is the 144Hz refresh rate. Most Android tablets in this price range max out at 120Hz, and a dual-layer OLED of this size and price is rare. The display supports ASUS Pen 2.0 and above, making it suitable for creative tasks and note-taking.
Performance, battery, and design
The tablet is powered by the Dimensity 8300 processor, combined with 8GB of LPDDR5x memory and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. A microSD slot allows for an additional 1TB of storage. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB 3.0 Type-C port that supports DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery 3.0. The 9,000mAh battery can charge at 45W, reaching 50% in just 30 minutes. With a thickness of 6.5mm and weighing 523g, the fibreglass chassis keeps the weight low for such a large screen. Four Dolby Atmos speakers provide audio, and the tablet comes with a protective folio case that supports four usage modes. It ships with Android 16.
At Rs 45,990, the ASUS Pad competes with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE and the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro. The Galaxy Tab S9 FE features an LCD panel at a similar price, highlighting the ASUS Pad’s dual-layer OLED as a key advantage in display quality. The Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro has a high-refresh OLED but lacks the dual-layer design and peak brightness. For those who prioritise display quality, video watching, or stylus-driven creative work, the ASUS Pad is hard to beat under Rs 50,000. The 256GB model at Rs 49,990 is a better long-term option for users who store media locally or handle large creative files.
