The PC and electronics manufacturer ASUS has re-entered the tablet market in India with the launch of the Pad T3201. The brand positions it as a premium Android tablet for users who want a big, bright display for entertainment, along with enough performance for learning, creative work, and productivity. Some other goodies include an OLED panel, slim design, and support for accessories like a stylus and keyboard. Let’s take a deeper look at the machine below.

ASUS Pad T3201: specifications, features

The ASUS Pad T3201’s key highlight is its 12.2-inch 2.8K dual-layer OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 600 nits typical brightness and up to 2,000 nits peak brightness. Most tablets generally opt for an IPS display to keep costs down, so an OLED offering should make it a great option for watching content, gaming, and editing photos or documents.

The upside of an OLED panel lies in its ability to render deep blacks and more vibrant colours, especially if you often use your tablet indoors and outdoors. ASUS also promises 100 percent DCI-P3 colour coverage, which should help the screen produce richer and more accurate colours.

The tablet is designed to stay portable despite the large display and measures just 6.5mm thick and weighs 523g. That is light enough to carry around in a backpack or hold for long reading or viewing sessions. ASUS is pairing the tablet with quad speakers and Dolby Atmos 360-degree audio output, which should make it a more immersive device for movies and streaming.

At the core of the ASUS Pad T3201 lies the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. If that is still not enough, the tablet also supports microSD expansion of up to 1TB, which is useful for users who store a lot of files, videos, or offline content.

The tablet should be able to handle everyday multitasking, online learning, and entertainment without much trouble, as the Dimensity 8300 is quite a capable chipset. It also comes with Android 16, which gives it a current software base right out of the box.

The tablet packs a 9,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging, so the machine’s battery life should also be quite reliable. ASUS claims it can charge from 0 to 50 percent in about 30 minutes, handy for quick top-ups. That makes it better suited for users who want a tablet they can use through a full day of classes, work, or content consumption without constantly worrying about charging it.

For productivity, ASUS is supporting the tablet with GlideX, ASUS Pen 2.0 compatibility, and Bluetooth keyboard support. That means the Pad T3201 can work as more than just an entertainment device, especially for users who want to take notes, sketch, or handle light work on the move.

It also includes a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, and Face Unlock, along with Google’s Circle to Search for quicker on-screen lookups. ASUS is also bundling a protective folio case with the tablet, which should protect the large display against scratches and damage, adding value to the overall package.

Should you buy the ASUS Pad T3201?

The ASUS Pad T3201 looks like a pretty decent all-round tablet for users who want a bright OLED screen, good performance, and reliable battery life in a portable design. The display, speakers, and accessory support make it especially appealing for media consumption, and the stylus and keyboard support let you use it as a productivity tool too.

ASUS has already confirmed that the tablet will be sold through Flipkart, the ASUS eShop, ASUS and ROG Stores, Reliance Digital, and authorised retail partners, but pricing has not been announced yet.  Still, we can make some assumptions based on the OLED panel, slim design, and overall feature set. The tablet is likely to land in the premium category, since it comes with an OLED display and powerful chipset.

That places it in the same bracket as premium tablets like the Galaxy Tab S series, which usually cost well above Rs 60,000, so buyers should expect ASUS to position this as a higher-end tablet. If you have the means to afford such a machine and want a capable device with excellent visuals and versatile use cases, the ASUS Pad T3201 seems to be worth considering.
