HP has unveiled the HP EliteBook X G2 Series, its next generation of premium business laptops aimed at professionals working in the AI era. The new lineup, which is a CES 2026 Innovation Award Honoree, is designed to deliver future-ready AI performance, enterprise-grade security, and ultra-portable designs as part of HP’s broader EliteBook X portfolio.
According to HP’s latest Work Relationship Index, 62 percent of desk-based workers say job expectations have increased over the past year, yet only 20 percent feel they have a healthy relationship with work. As a result, users are increasingly turning to AI to keep pace, while still demanding long battery life and fast performance from their devices. HP says the EliteBook X G2 Series is built to meet those demands, combining Copilot+ PC capabilities, intelligent performance tuning, all-day power, and strong security in a lightweight chassis. The laptops are EPEAT 2.0 Gold registered, highlighting HP’s focus on sustainability alongside performance.
For the first time, HP is offering customers the flexibility to choose between AMD, Intel, and Qualcomm processors on the same platform. The series will also be available in Glacier Silver, Atmospheric Blue, and Eclipse Gray colour options across configurations.
At the top end is the HP EliteBook X G2q, powered by up to the latest Snapdragon X2 Elite processor and featuring up to 85 TOPS of NPU performance, which HP claims makes it the world’s first business notebook to reach this level of on-device AI compute. The lineup also includes the EliteBook X G2i with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, delivering up to 50 NPU TOPS and up to 180 platform TOPS, while the EliteBook X G2a uses the latest AMD Ryzen AI processors with up to 55 NPU TOPS.

Across the range, the laptops are equipped with HP Smart Sense, which is designed to dynamically adjust power, thermals, and system settings in real time to maintain consistent performance. Users can also opt for the EliteBook X Flip G2i, a convertible model that supports laptop, tent, tablet, and stand modes, along with an optional garaged pen for flexible creation and collaboration.
Security is another highlight of the new EliteBook series. HP is equipping the EliteBook X G2 models with quantum-resistant protection and hardware-enforced HP Wolf Security for Business, delivering protection below, in, and above the operating system, even when devices are offline.
Design and mobility are equally emphasised, particularly on the EliteBook X G2i, which weighs under 1kg and offers all-day battery life alongside vivid 3K Tandem OLED display options. HP has also focused on serviceability, introducing a new top-mount design that reduces keyboard replacement time by up to 80 percent, helping IT teams repair and redeploy devices faster.
In terms of availability, the HP EliteBook X G2a Next Gen AI PC and the EliteBook X G2q are expected to go on sale on HP.com in the Spring, while the EliteBook X G2i and the EliteBook X Flip G2i will be available in February for select configurations. Pricing details will be announced closer to their respective launch dates.
