GIGABYTE has announced the AORUS RTX 5060 Ti AI BOX, a new compact external GPU aimed at bringing desktop-grade graphics performance to ultrabooks and lightweight laptops. The launch follows the unveiling of the high-end AORUS RTX 5090 AI BOX at COMPUTEX 2025 last year and marks an expansion of the company’s external GPU lineup to cater to gamers, creators, and AI-focused users.
At the heart of the AORUS RTX 5060 Ti AI BOX is a desktop-class GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB of memory. GIGABYTE has paired the GPU with its WINDFORCE cooling system, which uses a dual-fan setup to maintain stable temperatures while keeping noise levels low. Despite the powerful internals, GIGABYTE says the AI BOX is designed to remain slim and portable, making it suitable for users who need performance without committing to a bulky desktop setup.
Connectivity is a key highlight of the new GIGABYTE AI BOX. It supports both Thunderbolt 5 and USB4, allowing high-bandwidth data transfer for gaming, content creation, and AI workloads. According to GIGABYTE, the performance drop compared to a directly installed RTX 5060 Ti graphics card is limited to around 5 percent, a difference that is unlikely to be noticeable in everyday use. This makes the AI BOX a practical way to turn thin-and-light laptops into capable hybrid systems for gaming, 3D rendering, and AI experimentation, especially when paired with the GIGABYTE AI TOP ecosystem.
Alongside the new launch, GIGABYTE has also confirmed that the flagship AORUS RTX 5090 AI BOX is now available across regions. Powered by the GeForce RTX 5090, the top-end AI BOX delivers over 3,000 TOPs of FP4 computing performance. It is positioned for extreme multitasking, generative AI workloads, and AAA gaming, offering up to four times faster image generation and noticeably faster video editing compared to the previous AORUS RTX 4090 GAMING BOX.
