Thomson has introduced a new 32-inch smart TV in India running on JioTele OS, expanding the platform to one of the country’s most popular TV sizes. The model will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting January 22nd, priced at Rs 9,499.
Until now, Thomson’s JioTele OS lineup was restricted to larger screens. Bringing it to the 32-inch category makes sense as this size continues to dominate Indian households, serving as the go-to option for bedrooms, smaller apartments, or secondary TVs.
The new TV features a QLED panel with HD Ready resolution, 350 nits of brightness, and HDR support. Full HD displays are still rare in this price bracket, so Thomson’s move to use QLED technology should help deliver richer colours and better contrast compared to the standard LED panels that usually populate the segment.
JioTele OS itself is built with a focus on live TV and easy content discovery. It offers access to over 400 free live channels, more than 300 JioGames, and several global and regional streaming apps through the Jio Store. Features like AI-driven recommendations, multilingual voice search, and a dedicated sports mode target Indian audiences’ love for regional programming and live sports.
Sound performance also gets some attention. The TV packs 36W stereo box speakers and includes multiple sound modes tuned for movies, sports, music, and everyday viewing. For connectivity, you get dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, two HDMI ports (with ARC and CEC support), two USB ports, and an optical audio output.
Under the hood, Thomson uses an Amlogic processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The voice-enabled remote supports multiple Indian languages and comes with dedicated shortcut buttons for Netflix, JioCinema, Jio Hotstar, and YouTube.
At Rs 9,499, the Thomson 32-inch JioTele OS TV enters a competitive space, going up against offerings from Xiaomi, Realme, and TCL. Its combination of QLED visuals, Jio ecosystem integration, and smart features could make it appealing for first-time buyers or those looking for a capable secondary screen.
