The First day experience with Desire X A Nice Sub 20K Phone

The First day experience with Desire XnnnI was in search of a Sub 20K Phone for quiet a long time now.nnFinally... I decided to go with Desire X and got it in hand today. nnHere are preferences and the reason which lead me to buying Desire X.n1. Should have decent call Qualityn2. Should have decent camera which have minimum camera lag and better low ligh snaps for my occasional photography.n3. Should have good music player, Very good Music Playing capability and excellent audio.n4. Should get at least ICS out of the box since the JB has already released and Stock OS always will have its Advantanges.n5. Should have decent battery Life and reasonable build qualityn6. Should be a 3.7 inch to 4 inch display; nothing more nothing less.n7. Flash player Support is preferable.n8. And Above all, the price in India Should be less than 20KnnI did a lot of research and read lot of reviews. Finally Short listed.n1. Galaxy S Advancen2. Desire Xn3. S3 Minin4. Atrix 2 (Though this is a 4.3 inch screen I considered this for it excellent battery life)nnI decided not to wait for S3 mini since the price may be high (Around 25K) on launch and may have to wait at least until next Feb for the price to get dropped. And that is the Only reason I dropped S3 Mini.nnI dropped S Advance because of the Ginger bread, not so good camera, the low quality back cover and head phone jack at bottom. I didn't want to rely on the unknown waiting [period to get the ICS/JB upgrade by the time which it gets old again.I was not that much interested in front camera much because I am not going to make videos call with phones, neither interested in video recording and 480P capability is good enough in case I need something urgent. nnAtrix 2 have ICS upgradre available but, the Company - Motorola Mobility - is Closing operations in Asia except may be for Australia/China. But in India they are closing the operations for sure since it is a non profitable market for them and they are ramping down the jobs across globe. I don't want to buy a product where no one is responsible. So dropped that too.nnSo decided to go with Desire X though lack of gorilla glass was a concern (Neither SGSA Have it but SGSA seems to have a scratch resistant glass - not sure though. Not sure about the case of S3 Mini).nnThe Desire X experience so far for the last 6 hours since I started using it have been fantastic. Fluid performance and great looks. Wonderful on screen keyboard, neat browser with flash support and flawless performance. So far So good. Noticed a bit of heating up at times (I think for high graphic games), why and how, I will sort out and update later. The call quality is fantastic, so is the the Music player and audio. The Buold quality is not as Good as HTC one V or Atrix 2, But defenitly better than almost all Sub 20K phones. The back cover is bit of a concern, but not surely as much as SGSA back cover. The screen and the viewing angles are excellent. Will update on the battery life and rest of the things may be after a week. There is no HTC leap and There are only 5 home screens. Not a big deal any how - even the Iphone does not have any. How much you are going to use it?nnWe - the midrange users - think, we will do so many things with the phone. Infact what we do is, telephony, Music, occational browsing, bit of games and photography. So I want to nake sure these basic needs are covered with what ever extra comes. I think HTC desire X have to all with Beautiful HTC Sense skin over ICS. It is upgradable to JB (Android 4.1) too - HTC is know for it - to upgrade their phones OS on time and as many as possible.nnIt is foolish to compare Sub 20K midrangers with Galaxy SII, One X, One S, Galaxy SIII, Xperia S Etc. Make comparison with equals and you can make out Desire X have some goodies from them - Like the One X like camera Interface.

For all who think Galaxy S advance is better

first thing first - S advance is discontinued. The stock that you are seeing on online retailers is all result of extra stocking. Go to any Samsung shop and you will get the real picture.nn2- There is something called build quality and looks. Handle S - advance and Desire device side by side and you will get to know the difference.nn3- Nothing beats HTC sense, least of all Samsung's touch wiz.

Highly underestimated setcall it a black horse!!!!

I bought this beautiful set on 31st of october and mannn !!! i am happy about it....I'll directly goto the pro's and cons now:-n____Pros____nn->4 inch Super lcd does it's work superbly the display is marvellous!!.I can easily view it under the sunlight.nn->1ghz Dual core snapdragon is lightning fast!! I played many highly processor intensive games like asphalt 7,shadow gun and it worked like a charm on the set..nn-->768 MB Ram easily manages the multitasking on the set..nTill now didn't faced a SINGLE HANG OR LAG ON THE SET!!!nn-->Camera being just a 5MP still gives mindblowing images!!nAnd all the different features that u can imagine are available including the sexy BURST SHOT mode!!nn-->HTC Sense baby is something to talk about and to show off!!nEven my friend a galaxy s2 owner couldn't hide his admiration for the super sensitive TOUCH of the phone and the ease of using it...nn-->Inbuilt ICS is just wonderful waiting for Jellybean update soon!!!nn-->Notification LED is just the thing that completes this set for me.nnn__Cons__nn-->No front camera not an issue for me but it is for many other people out there..nn__Neither pros nor con__nn-->The beats audio is superb with it's bass effect but when i remove the headsets the speaker volume i felt was not suitable for watching movies or youtube videos but u can always use a sound booster app from the android market.nnAll in all 5/5 from my side...nnOH!!! just forgot to tell u about the build quality extremely slim and sleek..Just go to one of the showrooms and feel it in your hands u'll understand what i meant by it :) nnThanks for reading..

I Don't See a Point

Well, I am a great fan of HTC and their technology (specially HTC sense)and as product I'd give Desire X 4 out of 5 stars but I don't understand their trend of overpricing everything. I mean I don't see a point. Why would one go for Desire x paying THIS much when Galaxy S Advance comes with better specs!nnnHTC Desire X----Samsung Galaxy S AdvancenRs. 19799.00----Rs. 19500.00 (both FK price as on 12.10.2012)nS-LCD 2 Display----sAMOLED DisplaynNo front camera----1.3 megapixel front camera enabling video callsn704x480 px----1280x720px HD recordingn4GB internal memory----16GB internal memoryn7.2 mbps download speed----14.4 mbpsnGeo tagging----Face detection, Smile detection, Geo tagging, Touch to focusnDual core, 1000 MHz, Cortex-A5----Dual core, 1000 MHz, ARM Cortex-A9nMP4, H.263, H.264, WMV playback----MP4, WMV, H.264, H.263, DivX playbacknAdreno 203 graphics----Mali 400 that beats Adreno anydaynnThe only advantages HTC Desire X has over Galaxy S Advance are its 1650 mAH battery with longer talk time and stand by time in comparison to the 1500mAH battery of S advance and a v.3 bluetooth.nnThen why not S advance?

This is NOT Snapdragon S4. It is Snapdragon S4 Play.

Most of you people think that this phone has an S4 processor with Krait cores (A15), but sadly, it doesn't. This has a S4 play processor, which is actually two A5 cores combined running at 1GHz. The GPU with S4 is Adreno 225, but S4 Play has Adreno 203 GPU. Just to put all this into perspective, this processor pumps out half the performance as that of the actual S4. However, this is a good phone, a very good screen, sufficient amount of RAM, nice camera and all under 20k. Wait for hands on and reviews before buying. :)
