I have used and bought many tablets and phones over the years. Which also includes the Apple Ipad, Indian make but China made Tablets, other known tablet brands. Ive researched it all and trust me I'm not very easy to impress when it comes to investing in new technology. I require an amazing screen (also big and the right size), excellent speedy processor, ample of RAM, upgradeable storage with generous amount of internal storage, amazing battery life and last but not least it comes from a brand that you can trust on the most at what i declare a value for money purchase. DO NOT THINK TWICE BEFORE BUYING THIS PRODUCT > GO AHEAD AND GET IT. You can get a book cover/case for this offline around your city if you do some searching for about Rs. 500 so do not buy that online.nnFOR THOSE WHO ARE CONSIDERING BUYING INDIAN BRANDS LIKE SWIPE/XOLO/MICROMAX...you are making the wrong decision. Having researched for many months I have got a firm and strong view on this as have many others. The INDIAN tablet/phone market is growing. It has not produced any international standard tablets yet or will be in the near future. Their reliability and tuning have been left to manufacturers in China and we all know the life of most China makes. Even though some international companies manufacture from China,Indian brands have ALOT of catching up to do. Do your research, don't let false advertising draw you into cheap Indian brands. you will thank me later for this.

I bought this tab from another website that offered better discount. Then realized its not just the product but the service that comes with it, the shopping experience, delivery, customer support etc. My first order on another site was cancelled when they realized that they had accidentally offered an unreal discount (believe that!). A string of emails led to the refund being credited to my account after 11 days. My second order on yet another site was thankfully fulfilled but the delivery took a week whereas Flipkart normally delivers to my doorstep within a day.nnThe saying goes for the product as well. You may get a tab from cheaper brands with similar specs but the similarities end as soon as you start using them. It is the hardware integration and the software customizations done by Samsung which makes all the difference to your tablet experience. Evey day I use my Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 I am reminded of the money well spent and the frustrations saved.nnDesign and form: The tab optimizes screen space by having a slim bezel and 16:10 screen format which makes it slightly less wide and more manageable than other 8 inch android alternatives available currently. Also most android apps are customized for this screen format and not the 4:3 format being offered by cheaper 8 inch tabs. After holding the tab in one hand for an hour Its 316g weight becomes an obvious advantage against 400g something.nnScreen: At 189ppi its screen is much better than mini's 160ppi. Although on this day and date a retina display would have been more appropriate. Initially didn't think it makes much of a difference but it does. A higher resolution screen can be held closer to the eye and makes it easy to read finer text with much less strain. Even at 189ppi pixilization is apparent but not as much as at 160ppi. nnPerformance: The hardware/software integration shines here. Despite having a dual core processor it easily outpaces cheaper quad core tabs.Decent RAM and internal memory helps a lot. The Samsung UI is silky smooth though apps do crash sometimes.nnBattery: This is the star of the show and can go on for a whole day. Really the strongest point of this tab.nnThere are a lot of useful features like a split keyboard, multi window, S Voice, GLONASS (which helps triangulate your position much faster than GPS) etc. Things that make the Samsung experience worthwhile.nnAlternatives: The only real android alternatives to Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 are yet to arrive in India. They are the Nexus 7 (2013) and LG G Pad 8.3. Both will outclass Tab 3 with greater processing power and higher resolution screens. However Tab 3 8.0 is not all at loss here. The Samsung UI is still much better than what LG has demonstrated on G2 and G Pad 8.3. An example that demonstrates Samsung's superior experience and design is the placement of home and menu keys on the bezel while on almost all other android 4+ devices these keys eat into the screen space. Therefore the actual useful or visible screen area on Tab 3 8.0 is almost the same as G Pad 8.3 despite having a smaller screen. The Nexus 7 screen looks even smaller for the same reason. nAt the least one can expect decent price discounts on Tab 3 8.0 once these competitors arrive.nnWARNING: Be super careful about the quality of apps you install and the permissions they ask for. The permissions you grant bypass all antivirus security and can compromise your privacy. One bad app can ruin your tab experience.

Purchased Samsung Tab3 - battery failed within 1 month. Bought from MobTab - a seller in Flipkart. I have been chasing Flipkart and Mobtab for Invoice for claiming warranty replacement from Samsung. Flipkart customer care is passing the buck to Mob Tab. Mob Tab is not accessible at all.

I purchased this tab 20 days before. I worked on it for considerably longer time. Pros: The 8 inch screen size with 1280x800 with 189ppi makes the text clear and crisp. Reading text on it is great. The features like reading mode, multiple (only two at a time of course) window, smart stay etc features that are seen in high end devices are available in this tab. The camera outdoors is very nice but in indoor conditions under low light conditions, the photos turned to be grainy, softer and washed out due to the lack of flash. videos recorded are in HD quality yet satisfactory. Front camera is very good unlike tab 2 p3100. It supports 2.4 GHz and 5 Ghz dual band very well. wifi reception is outstanding. The sound volume, quality through the speakers while calls in loud speaker or playing music or videos is simply amazing. Bluetooth 4, battery backup is very good. 1 complete day on heavy usage up to 2 days on moderate usage and 21/2 - 3 days on very light usage. with 1.5 GB RAM and 1.5 GHz dual core Exynos 4212, MALI 400MP graphics makes the tab extra ordinary. Cons: Watching videos for more than 15 minutes, the back part gets heated up very much. I am not sure that is it with the piece I am using or with all the pieces.(Usually All pieces get warm a little bit). The price quoted is very high. Similar and more configured products are much cheaper ( in 7 inch segment like google nexus 7 etc). Samsung proprietary headset must have supplied with it. No flash at the back. No flip cover and screen protector or guard supplied. This tablet is not for heavy gamers. (go for Note 8 or Note 10.1). Micro Sim support (Neutral). In the landscape mode on of the speaker gets covered. Bluetooth devices support is sub par. Finally, I would conclude saying that I would recommend this tablet. The price may fluctuate based on the dollar-rupee value. 24.5K is high but may rise up (based on the political clutches) over a period of time the price may also come down.
