I Finally got my Galaxy Tab 730 (8.9") and after using it with iPad 2, I felt SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 8.9 product is light years ahead of iPad or any other Apple Technology even iPhone 4S.nnHere is a short list of what advantage you can have over iPad2; Reasons to consider the GALAXY Tab 8.9:nn01. You have USB mass Storage (Which iPad lacks); that means just plug & play and copy & paste. Its that Simple.nn02. Significantly higher resolution screen i.e. 800x1280 vs 768x1024 of iPad2 ; More than 30% higher resolution screen.nn03. Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Higher PPI screen i.e. 169 PPI vs 131 PPI of Apple iPad2 ; Around 30% crisper display of text, images and video.nn04. You can have Full Resolution Photos (whereas on Ipad iTunes, it reduces the size while syncing).nn05. Bright, vivid screen of Galaxy Tab 8.9 : TFT LCD that means Brighter and more vivid colour reproduction.nn06. Much-Much lighter than iPad2; Around 30% lighter. Galaxy Tab 8.9 = 447g & Apple iPad2 = 601gnn07. Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Much newer Bluetooth support 3.0 whereas Apple is still on 2.1 ; Typically faster data transfer and lower power consumption connecting to other bluetooth devicesnn08. One of the Important feature is the "Bluetooth" which works perfectly for sending and receiving any files with PC, Laptop and my phone. But on iPad, bluetooth just does NOT work for sending files! Which is really irritating.nn09. Faster max data speeds HSDPA (21 mbps) vs HSDPA (14,4 mbps) of Ipad2 ; Higher theoretical max data transfer speeds over cell networks (around 50% faster)nn10. You dont have to use any software to "SYNC" like on iPad. on Tab you Just drag and drop any file from Windows Explorer. Apple's Drawback: iTunes.nn11. Unlike iPad, Android supports FULL multitasking and you have "DESKTOP" with Live Widgets (which Apple can only dream of... :P).nn12. It plays more music file formats and video formats than iPad. You dont have to sit and CONVERT videos to get it to play. Yuck !!!nn13. MOST IMPORTANT... Its ANDROID... in my case, i consider it much better than Apple's IOS.. Android 3.1 way-way ahead of the current generation of IOS in terms of features....nn14. Its screen aspect ratio is better than the iPad 2, on iPad to video playback has black boreders.nn15. Dual Core Processor in Mobile Technology was Launched by Samsung in Apr 2011 (S2), where Apple just launched its dual core with lessor processing power in Sep 2011 (4S).nnSo You can see how APPLE Corp. is light years behind Samsung, HTC, Sony or even any other company running in India.

Hello All, I received Samsung Galaxy Tab 730 about 2 days now.nFrom the time I have received this tab, its not getting off my hand.nnPros:nAll the features available with other Tabs and Pads is there in this Tab, so you need not compare Tech Specs with other Tabs.nnYou do not lack any feature except voice calls (not expected to be on Tabs)nnCons:Only valid when compared to iPad2.:n- Charging takes long time to complete.n- Slightly sluggish.n- Android doesn't seem to be as complete as iOS, you will find many things that can be improved with respect to OS.n- iPad2 Build quality is far better than Galaxy Tab.nnWhy you need to buy Galaxy Tab 730 and not iPad2:n- This comes with 3G, GPS at cost much lower than iPad.n- Android Market Place with any app you require - lots of free apps.n- Display is amazingly great.n- most importantly - light weight (compared to any other Tab).nnThank you Samsung and Flipkart for such great product and delivery.nnI'm happy for the cost I paid. I got what I wanted with a Tab.

It is an awesome tablet.No comparability issues with Apple Ipad 2,and guess what flipkart has reduced the price to 30900..from 32000...thats even lower then what you get in any showroom setting.I wish i had bought it from flipkart,,,i ended up paying 3000 extra..well altogether the experience is awesome you can even connect your pendrive with the USB adapter connecter provided in the Box along with the tablet. and it does have a bluetooth sharing facility and the HI DEF video player is again a Boon.Best buy for the price being offered...

It's been like 4 months since I bought this tablet and so I have a pretty good idea what this tablet is good for and where it lacks. You can see the specs on the table in the description, so I am not going to waste your time writing about it. Instead, I am going to focus on my personal experience with it as a whole. nnThe first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box and held it in my hand was how thin it is. It's ultra thin! And I was amazed how light it is, especially for a tablet bigger than 8". In fact those two factors played a big role in deciding to buy this tablet. I do a great deal of reading off of this tablet and for reading I need a tablet that is both big enough for reading, (sorry but a 7 incher doesn't make the cut for me), and also light so that I am comfortable holding in in my hands for long hours. nnReading off of the tablet has been quite a comfortable experience for me and I do it during my commute everyday - that is about 45 mins coming and 45 mins going. Holding it in the hands feels good too. One charge lasts about 8 to 9 hours with continuous usage with GPS, and tethering on with reading, browsing the Internet, playing games and watching videos. With moderate usage one charge lasts me 2 days. nnOne of the things I love about Android is its widgets. I found this cool app called News360 that automatically collates news from various sources and displays it in my homepage in this cool scrollable widget without me having to do anything. Both the Gmail app and my regular work email app are awesome too. It has a calendar app too. And all these 3 things have widgets that updates automatically all my emails and meetings. Oh I love widgets! nnSpeakers are good keeping in mind it's a tablet. They are loud, full sounding. Playing games and watching movies are good experience too. I don't watch that many videos here and I have to admit it lags terribly with 1080p videos, although it gets by with 720p with a little to no lag depending on frame-rate, color depth etc. You can watch about 2 to 3 full length movies at one go with your batteries fully charged. The tablet warms up little bit when playing games or watching HD videos for long, but only little bit and I am still comfortable holding it in my hands, so no problem there.nnScrolling through various screens and apps is fast and comfortable, touch is pretty sensitive. Although having too many widgets and having live wallpaper may cause a little lag. And I have to warn you that Android OS isn't fully baked yet. It has Honeycomb with 3.2 downloadable update available. Both Android OS and its apps are still evolving and you will see some app crashes here and there, but I guess it's not specific to this tablet. nnAnother thing I love about Android is its notification area. It's so neat and you can go to settings directly from there. You can toggle your wifi, bluetooth, rotations etc. right from there. It's multi-tasking is great too with a button to access your recent apps. nnI use Airtel 3G sim card and it works great with this tablet. nnI feel I should inform you 1 thing honestly though. 2 days back I faced a serious problem that made me reset the tablet to factory settings and all my previous things I put on the tablet were gone. Although I did back them up so I can load them back again. But it's a pain. The problem was that when I turn on the wifi, it doesn't turn on. It says "turning on" and it gets stuck. After resetting to factory settings the problem is no longer there. But I would hate to face this problem again. I think this has more to do with Android than the tablet since it's a software problem, not a hardware one. nnPlease don't compare this tablet with Apple iPad. Apple iPad 3G costs way more than this. I have used Apple iPad 2 and it's way more smoother than the 8.9 galaxy tab. But I would still go for Android because 1. I can't live without widgets 2. I love the notification area and one click toggles for all the major things, 3. All the customization it allows. Apple iOS lacks badly in these 3 areas. nnBut if you are not good with technology, then you might want to go for an iPad as it is much easier to use.

I have purchased Samsung Galaxy Tab-730 from Flipkart.Earlier I was using GT P1000 model by SAMSUNG.Compared to that model,Galaxy Tab-730 is the worst one.I was using GT P1000 as mobile phone with or without Blue tooth which had given the model an edge over Apples I-Pad.nWhen I opened the Galaxy Tab-730 model from the packing, I found the phone feature missing in it. I immediately contacted M/S Samsung India Ltd. who confirmed the missing phone feature in the newly introduced models of Galaxy Tabs.I was shocked to hear this.I advise all the interested persons not to go for purchase of these models as otherwise the net can be surfed on 10 inch screen laptops which don't cost much and an average 10 inch screen laptop of a good brand costs around Rs.15000/- with nice features and is lightweight also.nI think by removing the phone feature,the Apple I-Pad has again taken an edge over Samsung Tabs.I rate the Galaxy Tab-730 as single star and that too for HD LED Screens only.
