i haven't used this laptop by myself yet.. But i'm planning to buy it asap.. I have read every review about this on internet.. So my review is completely based on others.. You should also check them before you buy any laptop..nThis laptop has everything i wanted in my laptop..nnPros :n>> 3rd generation I5 processorn>> 1 gb graphics card: with i5 and nvidia 1 gb card, you can play any game available till now on this, well am not a die hard gamer but according to the online reviews it can run every game some of them at midium and low configuration but can run them..nn>>20 gb ssd: ssd is what makes an ultrabook realy fast.. you can resume it in 1.6 sec from sleep mode.. Isn't it amazing.. It is faster(not fastest) as compared to other ultrabooks.. But 20gb is the minimum amount if there is any ssd.. But it is very costly so increasing it will also increase the price and acer had to cut off cost so it is acceptable at this moment..nn>>Optical drive: thank god it has an optical drive otherwise i had to purchase an external onenn>>Ultraslim only 20.7 mm.. nn>> Design : Man look at pictures they are awesome.. I m so in love with this laptop ever since i have seen it.. Black slim professional look.. Some online reviews criticize it but i like it so i dont care about them.. But you should take a look at them..nn>>Price: it is best buy i guess..nn>>Usb 3.0: fast usb port, but its only only 1.. It could have been better if there were 2 ports..nn>> heat consumption: it never gets heated up unless you are using it at its worst.. It gets heated up on lower right corner after a massive use by battle field, several audio/video encoding, etc.. And still its not so hot..nn>>Battery life: 8 hrs battery backup.. Again its a wow situation for users like me who spend alot of time on laptop and dont like to charge it again and again.. I know this gonna be tough for me when i buy this.. nn>> weight 2.25 kg: its heavier compared to 1.7 kg which most of the other ultrabook are offering..n>>Screensize 15.6": ultrabooks are supposed to be slim portable light.. But 15.6" and 2.25 kg distract it slightly from the ultrabook category.. I would rather prefer 14''.. But it had to 15.6 because an optical drive has been added so they had to make some room for it.. Thats why screen size increased and so with weight.. And i dont think there is any 14'' ultrabook which has optical drive.. So here i have to compromise and you too if you wanted 14''..nn>>Display quality is not good as said by many reviews online.. nn>>sound quality: acer did not keep its promise as dolby sound system.. On the other hand the sound ventilaters are at bottom so its gonna be worse if you are using it on your lap or a flat surface..nn>>Power button: power button is on palm area so there are chances u can turn it off or put it to sleep accidently..nn>>Flex: flex is also observed in screen and keyboard because of the plastic used in it.. Cheap material is used.. But again its a cost cutting method.. Anyways flex is a generic case for ultrabook.. nnOverall i don't like this ultrabook.. I just love it.. I am very excited to buy it.. :)
I normally dont review products but I am making an exception here because this product is also exceptional. After a lot of research I zeroed in on this laptop because I wanted alight weight laptop for some recreational gaming. This laptop lies someone between traditional laptops and the new ultra thin ultrabooks. Performance wise it is really fast and the SSD helps in resuming the laptop from sleep in 2-3 seconds. nOne con is that there is express cache installed and due to that the SSD is being utilized only for quick resume and not for caching. You can install express cache manually for this feature and it improves the performance by 30 to 35%.nAnother key feature is the Nvidia GT640M. This card is better tha any other graphic card available in the laptop segment falling under the price range of 40-50K. Its benchmark rates are way better than GT630M or GT740M. They are also better than the ATI radeon card being used in this laptop segment.nOne small con is that there is just one slot for RAM and thus if you want to upgrade the RAM then you need to replace the existing one.nLastly and most importantly there is no heating issue with this laptop even after 3-4 hours of heavy gaming with games like borderlands 2 and crysis 3.nAll in all very good value for money.
really awesomen best in its price..nbest in cofig. namazing touch pad i.e multi-touch and guesture feature(zoom,minimize and many more)nsuitable for both gamers as well as professionals...nmy each review is Positive except some and those are:nall ports are at back..difficult for those who r habitual of side ports nbattery backup is roughly 5-6 hrs
Really awesome laptop i have ever seen. It has great looks and build quality is really good. I bought it yesterday for 42,000/- at Acer dealer Visakhapatnam. Screen quality is also not bad just like other 15 inch laptops. Only thing is ports are at the back side other than that it is a wonderful budget ultrabook from Acer. :D
