I've been using this for about a month now. I picked this up along with 2GB of RAM from Flipkart (Rs. 800) because it's cheap enough and the extra 1GB makes a big difference. I use Windows 7 64 bit, and it works great with Aero enabled. The drivers on the CD worked fine, but I got the latest graphics drivers from the Intel site as the Asus installer seemed to have trouble launching on 64 bit Windows. Everything is smooth, responsive, and fast. I get 7-8 hours of battery life with normal usage (web browsing, the occasional movie, word processing) and the screen brightness turned to the lowest setting (which is still pretty bright if you're indoors), and Bluetooth & WiFi off when not using the Internet. Asus provides a neat tool, Super Hybrid Engine, that underclocks your processor when on battery to squeeze out every last bit of battery life (you can also use it to overclock your processor if you want to, by pressing ctrl space). The construction is very solid, and the chicklet keyboard is as good as you can expect from a netbook of this size. The trackpad supports multitouch and getsures after installing the proper drivers. The trackpad is the best I've tried, period. Tap twice to double-click, tap with two fingers to middle-click, three to right-click, and swipe anywhere with two fingers to scroll. It is an absolute pleasure to use and is as close to a mouse as it gets. My main problem with this is that it came with a glossy finish on the lid, which really picks up fingerprints and smudges. I would have preferred a matte lid. All in all, I am very satisfied with this, and in my opinion, this is the best netbook on Flipkart right now, both in terms of value for money, and in terms of overall features.
This is not my first order to Flipkart. I received this product in just 2 and half day short time delay by flipkart. The packing was exellent. Thus you dont have to think twice, just to order this product if you have finalized it. Well I will not describe this buitiful portable machine, but will try to clear some doghts. * It comes with Asus startup, thus to make it user frindly you have to install Win7, linux or XP as your wish. * If you will go through about the reviews, you will find that it is available in matte and non-shine cover out side India, but this product has glossy cover which somehow catch finger prints. * The weight is above 2 pounds, just because of the its 6-cell battery. * There is just one speaker in extreme left in down panel. * Battery back up is 6 hrs, so dont worry about battery life. * Asus has modified the screen by non-reflecting screen, thus you can use it outdoor in day light . * Power brick is like mobile charger, thus it makes it really potable. * Its Atom Dual Core processor 's performance and look makes it above other brand netbooks, even in price tag. Over all it is worth of a single paisa.....!
Got this a couple of days back, sort of replacement upgrade for X101H. Loved the feel of keyboard, the screen brightness, the battery backup (normal use should give 5hrs only, max is without screen/sound/wifi/bluetooth/hdd) general processing power which Dual core CPUs puts in; did not find the OS supplied as worthwhile, so Ubuntu'ed it and Voila, the Netbook exprnce simply became a pleasure. Movies play purrfect, though connecting to a bigger LCD screen makes it better {connection to external LCD monitor worked without any hiccup}, sounds are "okay" {again connect to external speakers, browsing is fun! Value for money!
My First Purchase in Flipkart! I've ordered it on monday and received on wednesday!(Best Shipping) Came with 3 box and safely packed(Best Packing) Asus- charger is like a Mobile charger(compactable) Netbook works like a laptop(user friendly)[When installing windows xp or 7] Fine speed, when is enough for a business Negative- Camera(avg quality), speaker-not enough.. Use headset-its really Amazing. Very good support from an executive even for a small problem.... What else needed to a good shopping mall...
I bought this from Flipkart this week (Jan 31). The hardware looks good but i am unable to install windows, linux, nothing, neither it is detecting the USB port. I have escalated the issue to Asus, does it seems like a regular issue with these machines, i am not sure, but do check for this first. Problem: USB port not detecting even at a BIOS level. Incase anyone of have faced the same problem and have been able to solve this, do let me know how to solve. I am giving it a 1 star rating because of the frustrating period post purchase when the USB ports were not working. I will keep updations if possible on this post, today Asus engineer has seen the machine he wants to take it back, but i would like a replacement rather. Saving grace for this machine was the Asus cloud OS which helped me atleast browse on the machine, i don't know of another PC which provides me with something like this. I really hope my problems are solved, its frustrating when you buy a product and not able to use it.
