Short Version:This is a pretty good laptop u can get in the price range with preinstalled windows(im not into pirating windows neither do i have a spare copy lying around)n and the only real competitors are the hp stream 13/11(currently with an inflated price and im going to compare the 13 inch model in this review) ,asus x205ta acern s1002,asus x553 and dell inspiron 3452.nI have used almost all of the above laptops.I dont normally write a review but when i do i make sure its pretty much all you will need.nnHonorable mentions for non-windows laptops:HP Notebook 15-ac118tu(The best non-windows laptop for the price),Lenovo G50-30,Dell Inspiron 3551n THE SHORT VERSION(For more details continue reading.)nPros of e402ma:n+Display(Adjust it to ur liking by calibrating it.)n+U can insert a an ssd or hdd.n+Stays really cool(The icecool technology thingy actually works)n+Sound quality is nice and it does get quite loud.Even the sound equalization software is amazing.n+Trackpad is huge and accurate.n+Build Quality is quite nice.n+Keyboard is pretty nice.n+Good connectivity optoions.Has usb 3.0 and ethernet.This even has a VGA port.Wifi range is quite good.n+And well its dirt-cheap.nnCons of e402ma:n-Storagen-Non expamdable ramn-SD Card sticks out.n-Performance(If you were expecting more from a dual core silvermont based pentium then i'm sorry to to give u the ugly truth.)n-No indicator light for capslock and mute keys.n-Really bad gpu.(Only can play pre 2005 games smoothly)n-Battery life(Battery life is about 6 hrs which is okayish compared to 11 hrs of the x205ta.)nnPoint to note:n*Emmc has 14gb free out of the box.n*Emmc read speed are 150mb/s seq and write speeds are 75mb/sec seq.n*Novabench scores is 309.n 1930 MB System RAM (Score: 105)n CPU Tests (Score: 173)n Graphics Tests (Score: 24)n Hardware Tests (Score: 9.Read speed-75mb/s)n*Octane score is 8168.n*This has global onsite warranty.n*Minecraft with optifine ~35-45 fps(Medium graphics)n*CS 1.6 ~90 fps with 10 bots.(Max graphics)n*Halo Combat Evolved ~65 fps(High graphics)nnTHE LONG VERSIONnnSo i will compare all of these laptops:nnBuild Qualty: Hp Stream(This baby is built like a rock)>Asus e402ma>Dell Inspiron 3452>acer s1002(A pretty good implementation of a budget 2-in-1)>Asus x205ta>nAsus x553(Very okayish and not really sturdy0nnPerformance:Asus x553(Quad Core Pentium+Upgradable Ram)>Dell Inspiron(Much better gpu compared to rest.The gpu is almost twice as fast)>Acer s1002==Asusx205ta>nAsus e402ma==Hp stream 13nnDisplay:Acer s1002(The best budget display and it has touchscreen and its ips which means amazing viewing angles. When i tell u its amazing its an understatement.Rocking a contrast ratio of almost 1000 it is almost 3 times more than most budget laptops)> Asus e402ma(Quite good for the price.Horizontal viewing angles are quite nnice but vertical viewing angles are pretty bad)>Dell Inspiron 3452==Asus x205ta>Hp stream 13(Matte display whcih meaning amazing sunlight legibility and less reflections but it also means reduction in contrat and the color pop effect and also worse viewing angles)>Asus x553(Its display is pretty bad)nnBrand(Usually):Dell>Asus>Hp>AcernnStorage:Asus x553>Asus e402ma(Simply because you can add an hdd or ssd as it has a free sata port)>Acer s1002==Dell Inspiron 3452==Hp Stream 13==Asus x205ta==Hp stream 13nnnConnectivity:Asus x553(Its not huge for no reason.U can expand the ram to 4gb)>Asus e402ma(Sad part is that the sd card sticks out but it more than makes up for it nwith an ethernet and vga port)>Dell Inspiron 3452>Hp Stream 13>Asus x205ta(Nothing special.Lacks Usb 3.0 port)>Acer s1002(Micro sd card slot is pretty bad as the nmaximum read speed is 22mb/s and therefore installing programs on external micro sd card is not practical due to long loading times and it Lacks Usb 3.0 port.)nnPortability(Weight,Size and Battery Life :Asus x205ta(Less than a kg and battery life ~11 hrs>Acer s1002(Batter Life ~ 8 hrs)>Hp stream 13(Battery life ~6 hrs and most preffered size and form factor>Dell Inspiron 3452(Battery Life ~7 hrs)>Asus e402ma(Battery Life ~6hrs>Asus x553(Pretty heavy and huge and battery life ~2-3 hrsnnIMPORTANT NOTES:n*Pls create a recovery drive as soon as u get the laptop then get a fresh windows 10 image from the windows website and reinstall windows. This means lots more storage as there is no recovery drive and also no bloatware.n*If u are buying a non-windows laptop make sure the drivers are available on the website.And use genuine windows because it saves alot of time and also gives nimportant updates and security fixes.nnAnd lastly if u liked my review pls give it a helpful.
Its totally worth the price, For your buck let me tell u what exactly u are getting and what not and how it sweetens the deal.nWhat u get:na. A lightweight easy to hold and carry small yet workable powerhousenb. Long about 5-6 hours of Screen on time and that with actual usagenc. Fast charging technology for laptops nd. Silent but not dead silentne. Great chiklet keyboardnWhat u don't:na. Don't expect a performer here , with just 2 gibs of ram u can open 3-4 tabs and work on One note , play background music at most. Rest u cant do on this buddy.nb. Only with 32 gibs on board storage however it can be expanded with external hard disk as it has 2 dedicated slots with it 1 usb 2.0 and other 1 usb 3.0 and also internally upto 1 TB(which will void ur warranty yet asus has a provision for expansion) but the problem lies that RAM cannot be expanded.nc. The white one looks great but u have to clean it every 2 days. nnAnd here's how u can sweeten the deal this series is available at Flipkart web for 17knbut at app it is available for 15K along with 5% extra cash back with all banks eligible plus on my recommendation go with the black/dark blue one, it looks better with hopefully lesser maintenance.
this is one of the best laptop for day to day use. nnPros:n1. doesn't have a fan, so you can place it where ever you want without worrying about the air outlet.n2. Light weight.n3. smart gesture touchpad. Its kind of cool you could scroll pages, images with by just swiping(just like in Mac air).n4. Good screen clarity.n5. USB 3.0.nnCons:n1. Less internal storage. user space available is around 10.g.b. You cannot extend the storage like eee 205ta(previous version) with micro s.d card. There is an s.d card slot but its like other laptop where the sd card protrudes out. So its more like an USB slot. you could use it as an external storage but not as an internal storage.n2. Too many open application slows it down. Be sure to remove the pre installed Macfee antivirus. It slows your computer a lot. Install light antivirus like nod 32 or kaspersky.nnMy requirements were simple. I wanted an laptop to watch movies, do office works and edit pics with Adobe lightroom and this perfectly suited my needs.
I brought the eeebook x205ta for my friend. it was a superb budget laptop with ohk screen but a monstrous battery life that was on par with the MacBook air.nwith the newest eeebook e402 ma, the screen size has been bumped to 14 inches but with the same resolution. that’s fine for the price. the biggest short coming is the 32 GB of internal memory out of which 15 is user accessible. nbut buyers have to know that ASUS has a hidden port on the bottom that can fit in a 2.5 inch HDD. I was delighted to find that and expanded the memory via an old laptop HDD.nover all, a nice laptop with excellent keyboard and track pad. but not for gamers. works perfectly for word processing and media consumption.
I Order the model with processor N2840, but received N3050. Then I request for Return! I told FLIPKART that I cant told the seller, better I get the refund, but FLIPKART ensure me with GUARANTEE that they will 100% sure this time will be right item being delivered. I put my trust WRONGLY on FLIPKART team and waste time to wait for another 1 week. Result? Again same wrong item with processor N3050 (Slower speed).
