Really good

I bought this for my wife and she is really happy with it. The touchscreen is good and responsive and it's quite easy to use it, all that theory about gorilla arms are plain wrong. I liked this model a lot as it's compact and only 11-inches while all the other slim devices such as ultrabooks have 13 or 15-inch screens. This is perfect for someone who has to carry a device around for work the whole day. The device is used mainly for word processing, browsing and for watching videos and there hasn't been any sort of performance issues. Battery life is excellent for a device this thin, but the fact that batteries aren't removable is a bit irritating. I haven't had to remove it till now but I'm dreading the day the battery dies (which hopefully won't happen anytime soon). Overall, it's a steal for this price and kudos to Asus for not over pricing it.

Review for US version X202E

The price was close to 24,000 when converted, so I don't know why Asus or our Indian government taxes is causing such a high price here for this low end device. Windows 8 is considered a failure in comparison with Windows 7 in so far the improvements are intrusive design changes and touch implementation that is rarely used in Windows native applications. Bing maps in metro mode does look magnificent, but who uses Bing anyway? The processor is on the slower end, but for 11 inch display you won't feel much lag unless you are using it for gaming. The Sonic Masters internal speakers are loud and clear and is really good for movies and music. Also to note is that Asus is not up to the mark in reliable hardware. Touch screen stopped working in just one month, but International guarantee ensured the screen was replaced. However they took one month to get it done. Overall my advice is don't buy this because you want Windows 8 or touch screen, buy it if you like the small and thin design and looks. Serious users who want sturdy computer for office or college - please avoid.

Decent entry level Core i3

Received this lappie within 40 hours. Thanks a lot flipkart! Being an IT lecturer, I don't use this laptop for hardcore gaming purpose. That's why won't review much on that part. I have installed Adobe Indesign CC, Photoshop CS6, Photoshop Lightroom, Brigde, Dreamweaver CC, Edge Animate, QuarkXpress, Total Video Converter, MS Office 2013 and some open source softwares. All of them run smooth, no problem at all. I have even tried opening 4-5 softwares at a time, still smooth. Pre-installed Windows has an explorer.exe error just after the OS starts (no, that's not a virus, confirmed) but there has not been any issue while using. Trend Micro Internet Security program does a decent job + its registered for 1 year, nice job! As I have migrated from 15.6" (acer laptop) screen to 11.6", it took some time for me to get my hands on this keyboard, although I don't miss my previous keyboard much, well done asus! USB 3.0 and Bluetooth work like charm while transferring data. I haven't tested HDMI yet, will use it soon. VGA port serves industry standard, I had no issue connecting it to different projectors n screens. Audio port is good, connected my home theatre with it. MMC SD port is great, but I assumed my card to be completely inserted as in my previous laptop, but it remains partially out, again not an issue. LAN port is excellent, great space management technique applied. Webcam is okay-ish! Viewing youtube videos in HD with this piece are a treat to eyes. Asus Smart Gesture touchpad is impressive, quite innovative. Converting/Rendering videos don't consume much time (thanks to 3rd Gen i3). I have never had this fun of using Windows 8 touch apps before. Purchased this thing for 35,050 with 1yr extended warranty from e-techies and free Counter Strike dvd. Thanks again flipkart. Recommended for daily needs of travelers / students / professionals. Pros: 1. Build Quality 5/5 2. Audio Quality 4/5 (not much bass) 3. Screen Quality 3.5/5 (pretty glossy) 4. Touch Interface 5/5 (no lag at all) 5. Keyboard 4/5 6. Thickness & weight 5/5 (reason for purchasing this laptop) Cons: 1. Space key is noisy (slight whistling sound) 2. Started heating up a bit. Not much though! 3. Battery lasts for 3 n half hours. [3/5] 4. Viewing angles [2/5] In case you have any query before purchasing this product, let me know if I could provide any help.

Superb ultrabook that performs and looks good while doing it

Go about most internet reviews and you will find them mentioning this as not being an ultrabook. And it isn't by 7mm in width officially. But hey, its very slim and very light at just 1.4kg. If you are a student or a traveller who wants a light laptop and not lug around a piece of heavy machinery, this is the perfect thing to invest in. Gives you the best value for money on the market right now. PROS: - Price (you can't buy an ultrabook any cheaper than this, you get every bang for buck) - Touch screen (no matter how much I don't want to, I eventually end up using the screen and it is a pleasure using it) - Touchpad (very big and spacious touchpad which has some nice multi-touch gestures which feel good) - Brushed aluminium look (feels good and is quite a looker) - Thin and light (doesn't occupy much space and is very easy to carry in one hand, even the adapter is small and light) - Good amount of ports for an ultrabook (HDMI, VGA, 3xUSB, Ethernet, you name it) - Smooth performance on Windows 8 (hardly any lag) - Keyboard (spacious and nice chiclet keyboard) - Quick start (while other ultrabooks are told to start faster due to an SSD, this one boots up quite fast for my purposes with having one) CONS: - Display (it's glossy and I would have preferred matte but doesn't sting me much, colours are not as vivid but it has a brilliant resolution though) - Not for gaming (well if you are looking to play NFS:MW or something as hardcore, look away, this wasn't meant for that) - Power button (it just looks out of place, only if ASUS had put some extravagant flourish on it ;)) - Low capacity battery (that would have made this heavy but slightly higher capacity and would have been absolutely awesome) - Nothing more. I had to nitpick the cons. But other than that, this is a scorcher of a ultrabook, notebook or laptop or whatever you desire to call it. As a student, it serves my purpose beautifully by being light and the touch screen I feel is a superb value addition. Performance from the i3 processor is nice ensuring there's no lag. Windows Store games work brilliantly but graphics intensive games, not so much. I would just give it a 5 for being such an amazing value for money buy. You get everything for what you pay.
