The BlackBerry DTEK50 puts emphasis on security. But can it compete against the Xiaomi Mi 5 and ASUS ZenFone 3. We find out in our review.
Dec 08 2016 By Nitansh RastogiTo summarise, the BlackBerry DTEK50 generates mixed feelings. It could have been the Canadian giant`s masterstroke – combining the flexibility of Android with its security prowess, that too at a mid-tier price point. Adding to its troubles is the cut-throat competition in this price bracket. When it comes to compact options in the same price bracket, the ASUS ZenFone 3 (review), Xiaomi Mi 5 (review), and ZUK Z2 Plus (review) are powerful devices. If you don’t mind phablets, then the LeEco Le Max2 (review) is a steal deal offering the flagship-grade Snapdragon 820 under Rs 20,000.The BlackBerry DTEK50 is a decent smartphone, but isn’t meant for everyone. BlackBerry loyalists will miss the comfort of typing on QWERTY keypads, and while the inclusion of Android OS is enticing, there are some trade-offs like heating issues and poor battery life, making its case more difficult. However, if you are someone who values security and want a phone for one-hand use, then the DTEK50 could be worth a second look.

DELIVERED ON18th Feb as ordered on 14th was expected on 22nd. so in my view delivery is great from flipkart. first look this phone is amazing and looks so premium after holding in hands don't feel like its so huge in fact feels so light with a good grip won't even feel it is 5.2 inches big can be held easily in hands. sound quality of phone is amazing and no distortion even on full volume, good stereo effect speakers are present on both front and rear sides of phone, 1080p panel looks good no complaints from my side, I am not a gaming guy but for everything else this phone really amazing and can give u full day from normal usage battery not that huge but still I am ok with it coz it supports fast charging. camera is decent it also have front flash and selfies looks decent and rear one works well as I am no professional photographer it's working great for me and for daily driver its amazing for more professionalism go and get a DSLR coz in the price range it's not bad and the most important its BLACKBERRY the most secure so go for it without any worries. This phone got no heating issues if you, not a heavy gamer and video shooter, charger gets little warm during charge but its ok with all fast charging no need to worry. Performance and touch wise this phone is super fluid you would love it I know there are lot others out there giving you more in this price range but in my opinion its good choice. have double tap waking up function also. if u place this order don't forget to buy screen guard or some protective case with it or a pouch as accessories are not available in my location so better u order with it. that's all from me this is a nice phone with 3gigs rams nicely optimised and premium looks especially girls can go for it coz I ordered for my sis, as most of the guys are more into specs and gaming so it''s totally up to u what u choose.
