this is deceiving

mirrorless cameras usually don't have flash in-built. ncanon sells these as a package.nu cannot sell it without the external flash Speedlite-90x.

No Doubt it's quality ! But where is commitment from Canon ?

Being a Canon DSLR user since 2007 I like to join this Mirrorless trend and I found there is nothing better to rely on this cute little Canon beast. But I can't, why reason below as a intermediate user point of view:- nn1.Canon need to show much more commitment in this late entered mirror less segment to attract potential buyer. Still now what we got one zoom lens 18-55mm f/3.5-f/5.6 and one f/2.0 22mm prime & one EF-M adopter for all EF & EF-S compatibility.nnBut here in India, where is the 22mm prime and there is no sign of EF-M adopter by any official channel. Potential buyer like to see some effort from the manufacturer side before invest in the new system like EOS-M (Only 2 lenses and 1 Adopter, what is the point of interchangeable stuff if those are not available ). nn2.Due to Hybrid AF system this EOS-M is pretty hard of shooting any subject other than stationary. nn3. No Electronic View Finder = Focusing or composing the shot pretty hard when the light condition not favourable to look at the LCD display.nnSome folks are complaining about small body, Odd looking when mount with huge lens but I like to remind isn't portability is the key point of opting a mirrorless ? nnAnyhow due to mentioned shortcomings I like to rate this product 2 out of 5. nn(No disrespect to anyone, This is my personal observation about this product who is looking for lightweight product to replace his age old DSLR body which can take existing EF & EF-S lenses out of the box or help with an adapter which is available easily)

Buy it or not

Dear all.The Canon EOS M comes with different packages with flash without flash ,body only ,with 22mm lens ,with 18-55mm lens .The package offered by Flipkart is for without flash and they have not mentioned it anywhere also .The package with flash was costing 20999 and they have mentioned it with 90EX flash in there listing .As nobody is aware of that they start complaining that flash is not included . The box with flash shows the flash pic too and flash sr number in the box .The box without flash shows no pic of flash and there is serial number for body and lens only in the package details .So please don't blame Flipkart .However, Flipkart should clearly indicate that this model is without flash to avoid any confusion .nUpdate: I would like to add few more information better go to Canon EOS 1200D Combo offer with 18-55 and 55-200 lens .The main advantages of 1200D over EOS-M aren1. You will get built in flash in 1200D .However, in case of Canon EOS-M the flash does not come with this package and if you purchase it separately it will cost 9000 in India and min 4000 in USn2. You will get view finder in 1200D which is unavailable in EOS-M ,Viewfinder gives you more concentration on composition .Canon EOS-M lacks the same and in sunny bright day it is difficult to see the LCD .n3. You will get variety of Canon EOS-EF Mount lenses ,the same you can attach to EOS-M but you need an Adapter for that, which again costs Rs 4000/- extra .n4.The combo package of Canon EOS 1200D costs Rs 22000/- to 25000/- at various sites with 55-200 lens .However if you buy 55-200 lens for Canon EOS-M it will costs Rs 25000/- extra and is also not available in India right now .n nSo Canon EOS-M may be looking cheap but you may see as per above points that it is a costly affair indirectly .The AF speed is also not that fast compared to others and The resale price is also not good and there are few lenses for EOS-M directly and they are too costly.nnHope it helps

APSC SENSOR MIRRORLESS

After having read all the reviews and watched many YT videos where 99.99% reviewers complained of the pathetically slow AF system, which I totally endorse, I still got this as I needed a compact form factor but with a sensor larger than P&S size. The other mirror-less cameras have a micro four third size sensor, which is significantly smaller than the APS-C size.sensor.nnThe build quality is good. The photos and videos are also good. In-fact the videos are stunning. The camera also supports an external microphone jack to attach a shot gun mic. By adjusting the mic control you can eliminate the "shhhiiiiiissssshhhhhh" sound that is due to the AGC playing up and get clean audio for your video.nnThe previous price was the biggest deterrent to most buyers.nnNow with a 40% off, it can't get better than that. There's a M2 version that is expected, but the price won't be 20k for sure. Even the sony, panasonic, fujifilm are all much more priced than this.nRemember this is an outgoing model and world over the prices are around $300, against the $799 about 2 yrs ago. nDon't buy this if you wan't high speed AF, For that the Iphone and even the samsung grand do a better job.nnIf you want DSLR quality and use manual focus then go for it. Being in possession of the Canon 550D, 600D, 60D, so am well versed with the technicalities of the same.nnEven for street photography, it does not attract much attention due to the small form factor.nnWS RETAIL HAS ALWAYS DONE A SUPER JOB OF DELIVERING THE PRODUCTS WHICH ARE ALWAYS VERY WELL PACKED

Excellent Product with Excellent Image quality.

I wanted a camera with DSLR like image and compact in size. I was totally not in a mood to buy those bulky DSLR's, moreover I'm not a professional and not used to all those manual settings like aperture, shutter speed, ISO, exposure etc. nnI'd read many reviews and watched youtube videos. I was impressed but had a doubt about the auto focus as many reviewers complained of it being pathetically slow. I agree with them but the mantra for using this is that you have to be a little patient and it will do the job for you. As time passes you will get used to it.nnThe image quality is awesome and has lots of details. nnThe only barrier was the price but on flipkart it's available at an amazing price and is totally worth even with the slow auto focus system. I would highly recommend this to people looking for a mirrorless. nnThe new M2 version is only available in Japan and it's around $850(ard 48000-50000 INR) with 18-55mm and 90EX speedlite flash. Even it it's launched in India the price won't be around 20K and all other brands like sony, panasonic, fujifilm are all much more expensive than this.nnI would like to mention that the camera that I received had manufacturing defects like the Menu, Play buttons were not functioning properly. They used to work sometimes or I had to press them very hard to make them work. Even if you wanted to view your clicked images, pressing the play button will display the recently clicked one but when you try to move to the next by pressing/rotating the circular dial, the screen used to blink for a second display the settings menu. nnI'd registered a complaint regarding the same to flipkart and they replaced my camera with a brand new one in 4-5 days. Now the replacement is working perfectly fine. I would really like to thank Flipkart(WS Retail) for getting this issue resolved in a smooth manner.nnThe only issue is the manufacturing date of the camera's are little old, they are of Oct-Nov 2012 time frame. I think that was the reason of the initial piee received by me being faulty. Since they were manufactured in 2012 and have not been in use the membrane/pads behind the physical buttons must have become hard. But don't worry about the warranty you will get 2Yrs of manufacturer warranty from Invoice date.nnHighly recommended product.
