Really Nice

Review after 30+ days of usage:nPROS:n1) size - its footprint is of 13.3inch laptop with 14inch screen size.n2) Build - very well built and feels good in hand. around 1.7kgs in weight and 1.8 cm thickness, very thin bezel around screen (same asthe new xps 13)n3). connectivity - 2 usb3.0, 1 usb2.0, ethernet port, hdmi and full sized sd card slot. what else do you need.n4) processing - intel 7th gen corei5 + 8GB ddr4 RAM + 2GB Nvidia 940mx ddr5 graphics card. superbly handles multitasking. i could play, COD Modern warfare 2&3 , black ops 2 & 3, COD ghosts, Battlefield 3, etc. smoothly at 1080p. No lags at all. 4.5hrs battery backup on movies and web surfing.n5. future upgrade - the Indian versin comes with 8GB RAM and 1TB 5400rpm HDD. However there is a spare M.2 SATA SSD slot and RAM is upgradable to 32GB (2400MHz, 2 slots 16GB each).nnCONS:n1. Highly glossy screen. Very difficult to see under direct light (even lights in interior condition). I would have preferred a matte screen.n2 the laptop body and screen are fingerprint/dust/smudges magnet. it takes too much to keep its clean.n3. Very low speaker output. external speaker highly recommended for good audio/ movie experience.n4. heats up on the bottom after 1 hr of gaming. cooling pad recommended for gaming.

Premium Stuff

A superb combination in an extremely dense, slim and premium package.nnMy previous workhorse, a dell xps 2010 model had started showing its hardware limitations and I realized the need for a replacement. And the arrival of this laptop was just perfect for me. But, there was one problem.. this is the very latest (and least publicized) laptop from dell. Frankly speaking, when I saw this product listed, I seriously doubted every bit of information. This is because, there was absolutely no information regarding this on the web; there was no one reviewing this unit (hence this review :P). But trust me, this will be one of your best buys ever. nnProsn+ 1080p IPS 14" display with Ultrathin bezel (esssentially makes the laptop very small in dimension)n+ Magnesium alloy top inner frame provides a good rubbery feel for palm rest (premium stuff)n+ Super slim (thickness ~1.9cm; I bet you'll be tricked when you open the package)n+ Brushed aluminum-clad design with 2-level backlit keyboard (coz looks matters at this price)n+ Supports SSD + HDD and upto 16GB DDR4 RAM (almost future-proof)n+ Weighs 1.6kg!! (for reference my dell xps weighed monstrous 2.7kg)n+ Good Solid Hinge (screen hardly wobbles on touch)n+ The Best for editing/typing/everyday/traveln+ 7th Gen Core i5 consumes 15W only! (hence battery provides good backup) nnCons (skip details, if you dont care)n- Keyboard is great for typing and everyday stuff (for gaming/editing go wireless)n- Trackpad is bit small for my preference (single biggest concern for smaller laptops, better go wireless)n- Not for serious gamers (GTX 940MX can run most games @ 1080p but, dont expect 60FPS for AAA titles)n- Webcam quality is okay, positioning is okayn- Speakers are bottom facing and not loud (for reference my xps had JBL speakers + sub woofer :D)n- Thunderbolt3 and battery indicator when turned off, should have been included nnIf you can afford, go for the 15" core i7 version. nThe clock speed, cache, screensize, battery, graphics memory is more as compared to this model + you get a 128GB SSD as primary disk. Again this is not a gaming/editing laptop, but if you're responsible enough you are free to do anything within your hardwares' capabilities.

Slightly disappointed

Laptop is too slow for a brand new peice. In task manager ram is all ready used up to 50percent that is 3Gb in idle state. The disk utilization also shoots to 100 percent every now and then hove contacted Dell support and taking fall up . This is not what we expect from a brand new laptop. It takes more time to boot also.
