Adarsh (Sanjay Dutt) and Aniket (Govinda) are brothers. Aniket is the elder, while Adarsh is the younger one. Both go to the same college, where beautiful Guddi (Mamta Kulkarni) has a crush on him, and vice-versa. Meanwhile, Adarsh is up to college pranks and practical jokes. One of these pranks and jokes land him into trouble in a girls only hostel. When the time comes to leave college and seek a career, both brothers chose a different path, one of which leads to the destruction and separation of their family. Will they reunite in the end?

When Divya Bharti was apart of the film she shot a scene writing a letter while lying down. This scene was the last scene she had shot before passing away. It later went on to become Sajid Nadiawala's farewell message to his wife at the beginning of every film including Andolan
Released during Sanjay Dutt's imprisonment in 1995 but the film had completed shooting in 1994. As Sanjay Dutt was not released on bail for almost nine months, 'Sajid Nadiawala' decided his voice will be dubbed by professional voice actor 'Chetan Sashital'.
When Divya Bharti passed away, Mamta Kulkarni replaced her in the film.
The shoot for the film began in 1992. Some scenes with Govinda were reshot in 1995 to give it a more updated look
The song 'Mazaa Kar Le Meri Jaan' was originally supposed to be pictured on Sanjay Dutt and Somy Ali but due to Sanjay Duff's imprisonment, Sajid Nadiawala decided to picturise the song on Govinda and Mamta Kulkarni because Dutt was not granted bail
