Director Anubhav Sinha who worked with Sanjay Dutt in Dus 2005,Tathastu 2006 and Ra One 2011 wasn't happy when Bhoomi's work was questioned after it's poster release,people started comparing films poster to Liam Neeson's Hollywood film Grey which did not go well with him.
Sanjay Dutt reveled the films poster on 29th July 2017 on his 58th Birthday.
Sanjay Dutt was to make a comeback with Marco Bahu film to be directed by Shelly Chopra sister of Vidhu Vinod Chopra who was the producer .The film failed to take off and Sanjay Dutt started working on Bhoomi.
Film was to release on 4th August 2017 but pushed ahead to 18th September 2017.
