TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Tony Todd revealed on February 23, 2008 at Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors convention in Chicago, that he did not care for this movie.

Shortly before production began, Artisan discovered that Sony, who distributed the first film in the US, had legal right to any sequel. Someone in the legal department had not checked, but luckily for them, Sony declined any involvement, and the film was free to go on.

The first "Candyman" film to go straight to DVD in the US, UK and AU.

Set roughly 25 years after the events in Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh (1995).

After the success of Freddy vs. Jason (2003), Lionsgate wanted to make a horror crossover of their own using the Candyman and the one other lucrative figure they had the rights to at the time: the Leprechaun. When the idea was pitched to Tony Todd, he immediately shot the whole thing down, believing it to be too ridiculous a gimmick to work and disrespectful to a character as tragic as the Candyman.
