TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

In an interview published in "Femme Fatales" magazine, vol.5 n°4, October 96, Adrienne Barbeau reveals that the production could only afford her for one day's work, so she ended up doing 17 pages of dialogue in that time.

One of the few films to be able to start production during the 1988 Writers Guild of America strike as it already had Writer's Guild approval on a finished script.

This film is the source for the song "Piranha Women of the Avocado Jungle of Death" by Christine Lavin.

Author Daryl F. Mallett was an extra in this film.

At 44:50 as the chief is swilling his First Beer, and slowly standing up, the music played is vaguely reminiscent of the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Popular Dialogues

"Dr. Kurtz: All right, I was exploiting the Piranha women. You don't know what it was like. David Letterman, God, the horror... the horror of that show... the horror."

"Dr. Margo Hunt: Dr. Kurtz, I'm unfamiliar with the academic guidelines at Radcliffe, but I would think any major university would consider warring on the United States and eating prisoners of war a serious breach of ethics. Dr. Kurtz: Always the cautious scholar, huh, Dr. Hunt?"
