TRIVIA

Trivia

Kareena Kapoor began smoking cigarettes regularly on the sets of the film due to her character smoking in the film. This eventually developed into a habit as she became addicted and would smoke daily over the next couple of years. She eventually quit for a while. But after that in around 2012-13 she signed on for a film called Heroine, in which her character also smoked frequently. This led her to pick smoking up again and it became habitual once more, as she now smokes cigarettes regularly again.

The original director, Anant Balani, died during production. Sudhir Mishra completed the direction.

The film was controversial due to it having many intense scenes, smoking, and alcohol. It was also controversial due to the heavy smoking by Rahul Bose and Kareena Kapoor in the film, as many critics felt it was promoting smoking.

Written on the wall of where Chameli and Aman first meet is some graffiti that reads "AIDS se bacho!" in Hindi, which in English means, "Save (us) from AIDS!"

Aftab Shivdasani and Rahul Khanna were approached for the lead role.
