Kristina Klebe and her mother translated the script for "The Diary of Anne Frankenstein" segment into German for all the German-speaking cast members.
In February 2012, the movie wound up in the headlines when a soundtrack for the gay-themed musical segment 'I Was a Teenage Werebear' was released. Director 'Tim Sullivan' found his eBay listings of the album were pulled and finalized sales were canceled because eBay deemed the auctions, which included a still from the film of Sean Paul Lockhart in his underwear, "morally offensive." eBay reps told Sullivan that he could re-list the soundtrack, but only in the pornographic adult-only section of the site.
Most of the lines Joel Moore utters as Hitler are gibberish, with a few exceptions. When the subtitles read "Why is everyone so mean to me?," he declares in German, "I'm such a shitty actor." Instead of singing the titular line "I Don't Want to Rule the World," he keeps singing "I have worms in my penis."
The segment "I Was a Teenage Werebear" was originally going to take place in a high school, but this location was switched to the beach because shooting in a high school proved to be too expensive.
The segment "I Was a Teenage Werebear" was shot in five days.
"Adolf Hitler: Here. Write depressing stuff in this as if the little girl wrote it. We'll sell it after the war and make millions."
"Peggy Lou: More to life than us? [Ricky stares at some guys] Peggy Lou: Ricky Patrick O'Reilly, you're doing it again! Ricky: Doing what? Peggy Lou: You're looking away!"
