STORY

Story
Philip Van Horn, who left his small town a long time ago to become a Hollywood actor and hasn't had any success at that, returns to the town for a visit. Trivia

Harold Russell's first film in which he had acted in 17 years, and his final film and on-screen role.

Throughout the film, Philip Van Horn (Trevor St. John) claims that he has worked on recent major Hollywood films starring Jeff Bridges and Molly Ringwald. Before this movie's production, director George Hickenlooper had previously directed Bridges in the feature film Grey Knight (1993), and Ringwald in the short film Some Folks Call It a Sling Blade (1994).
