Gillian Jacobs has never done improv and was given two weeks of training on improv comedy, despite her appearances on improv podcasts like Comedy Bang Bang. In addition, Kate Micucci had not done improv for years and trained along with Jacobs for their roles.
Allison's drawings that are shown in the film, and excerpts from her graphic novel, are Kate Micucci's own artwork.
