TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Because its American theatrical release was limited, and she was extremely proud of this movie, Coral Browne went on a self-funded promotional tour.

The scene where Alice is sitting to be photographed dressed in a Chinese dress is not true. The girl who actually sat for that picture was Alexandra (Xie) Kitchin, described as Lewis Carroll's favorite model.

The character of Lucy was entirely fictional. When Alice Liddell Hargreaves came to the U.S. to celebrate Lewis Carroll's birth, she was accompanied by her son Caryl and her sister Rhoda.

Final theatrical feature film of actress Coral Browne who played Alice Liddell Hargreaves.

Coral Browne was only cast as Alice Hargreaves after the first choice dropped out.

Popular Dialogues

"Alice Hargreaves: That's quite intolerable. It would be difficult enough at my age to be what I once was, but utterly impossible to be what I never was."

"Alice Hargreaves: [a journalist has just offered her some flowers] Are you one of those - oh, what are they called - Homosexuals?"
