The most expensive malayalam movie to be made at the time , it took over 2 years to be completed owing to production difficulties and financial hurdles. Multiple companies became involved than initially planned for completing production.

Barring the initial few minutes, the entire 198 minutes runtime of film was shot in Dubai. One of the few films to do so.

Actors including Nirmal Pandey and Anjala Zaveri were cast for the first and last time in a malayalam movie. Pandey expired a decade later and Zaveri quit her acting career.

With a running time of 198 minutes in the uncut version, this is the second longest malayalam movie ever, and the longest at the time of theatrical release.
