Halo halo is one of the most recognizable Filipino desserts. The name derives from the Tagalog word for "mixed" because the ingredients should be mixed before eating. The dish is often served in a tall glass with the colorful ingredients forming stratified layers. It typically contains crushed ice, evaporated or coconut milk, and other ingredients based on region and personal preference. It's often topped with ube or mango ice cream.
