In any given year, more than 600,000 people are reported missing in the U.S. Of these reported cases, more than half of the missing people are people of color, too easily neglected by the system. Gabi Mosely, a former missing person herself, now specializes in PR and leads a crisis management team that seeks out these missing people. But unbeknownst to anyone, Mosely is hiding a dark secret of her own.

Kelli Williams played an almost identical character on her earlier show, Lie to Me (2009). In that show, she played Dr. Gillian Foster, the assistant to Dr. Cal Lightman (Tim Roth), where she was an expert in identifying deception, via facial expressions and involuntary body language. In Found, her character, Margaret Reed, is the assistant to Gabi Mosley (Shanola Hampton), an expert in identifying deception, via facial expressions and involuntary body language.
Despite Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) obviously being cast as much older when he kidnapped Gabi (Shanola Hampton), he's is actually only 3 years and 2 months older.
This series marks the fifth consecutive time where Dutch and Indonesian-American actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar has headlined a show with a Black co-star. In addition to working alongside Shanola Hampton in "Found" (2023), Gosselaar worked with Tone Bell in "Truth Be Told" (2015), Kylie Bunbury in "Pitch" (2016), Saniyya Sidney in "The Passage" (2019), and Tika Sumpter in "Mixed-ish" (2019).
