IMDbA Chicago working class household with a family head named Frank Gallagher living under the same roof with his six children. His children suffer because of his never ending alcohol consumption habit. Fiona, the eldest daughter of this household, looks out for everyone in this family. The scene when Fiona was leaving was one of the show's melancholy scenes, yet watching as she raised a lot of children who were all resilient and courageous was absolutely wonderful to watch. Although Frank might appear to be a horrible parent, you can see snippets of how much he wholeheartedly loves his family, not to mention how humorous he is. Though Fiona is the family's adhesive, Lip is the soul, as seen by how he defends and supports his brothers and sisters through it all. I could go on and on about the fantastic characters and talented actors. It's a must watch show.

Unusual for a television show, creator John Wells has a very strict policy of no scripts allowed on-set. The actors and actresses have to know their lines by heart.
Steve Howey, who plays Kev, spent the entirety of season three recovering from a torn Achilles' tendon.
A unique show trademark is the main character breaking the fourth wall at the episodes' beginnings, inquiring as to why the viewer supposedly did not view the previous episode, before recap flashbacks are shown (with unaired scenes).
The cast admits that sometimes the scripts and story lines are outrageous, even to them.
This is an American remake of an English series, Shameless (2004). The UK counterpart (same title) is set on the Chatsworth council estate, a fictional borough in Manchester. It originally ran from 2004 to 2013 for eleven seasons, and 139 episodes.
"Mickey Milkovich: All right shithead, this is like the two hundredth time I'm calling and you not picking up! I'm starting to get fucking homicidal. Call me the fuck back, Ian! I'm worried about you. I love you. Call me back."
"Mickey Milkovich: I've got an idea. Lip Gallagher: We're not going to murder anyone. Mickey Milkovich: I don't have any ideas."
