Actor Lou Cutell, who played Doctor Saperstein, had previously appeared as a frightened villager in Mel Brooks 'Young Frankenstein' (1974).

Star Mark Blankfield was the only member of cast and crew who worked on both 1980s horror spoof movies 'Jekyll and Hyde... Together Again' (1982) and 'Frankenstein General Hospital' (1988).

The film is ''considered by some the worst Frankenstein movie ever made'' according to the 'Encyclopedia' website.

Bobby 'Boris' Pickett, who appears in a cameo, once appeared as an extern in an episode, 'To Each His Own Prison' (1963), of the medical television series ''Dr. Kildare'' (1961-1966).

The picture hanging on Dr. Frankenstein's wall is actor Colin Clive. Clive had played the original Dr. Frankenstein in 'Frankenstein' 1931. In this movie it is revealed that the new doctor is his great grandson.
