Guy Ritchie's The Covenant Review

In the war thriller The Covenant, Ritchie brings things down to a pleasantly agreeable level, emphasizing more intangible concepts like honor, loyalty, and tenacious perseverance. This does not imply that the director has lost interest in strong physical components. The integrity of two individuals from very different cultures is what gives this serious-minded, well-acted drama its thrilling pace. In what is essentially a two-man performance, Gyllenhaal and Danish actor Salim, who was born in Iraq, are perfectly matched. As a result, the movie is a good, compelling war drama that equally divides its focus between brutal battle and tenacious humanity. The cast is stellar and has given a fantastic performance. The storyline is gripping and the character development is also commendable. The plot is capable of keeping the audience on the edge until the very end. All in all, the film is a must-watch with a fantastic and exciting storyline.
