Rotten Tomatoes"Source Code" is an entertaining and thought-provoking sci-fi thriller movie that explores the nature of reality and various interesting themes of time travel. The movie's pacing is brilliant with a perfect balance of suspense, action, and character development. The sound design and visuals are also top notch and adds so much more depth to the movie. Talking about the performance of the lead star, Jake Gyllenhaal - he is absolutely wonderful and proves to be the shining element of the movie. All the other supporting cast members also did a great job. The major flaw in the movie was that some of the plot twists and reveals are quite predictable. But still, it didn't affect the movie that much as it still manages to keep the audience captivating throughout the movie. Overall, "Source Code" is definitely a worthwhile watch if you are into sci-fi thriller movies. Its engaging story, technical prowess and strong performances makes it a must watch for fans of this genre.

Jake Gyllenhaal had an ear bud in during the train sequences, into which the director would start playing music at any point in time to help Gyllenhaal's character look disoriented . The director played random songs as well as "static buzz" at times.
The only thing in the back of the white van that is real is the stars and stripes box. The rest was made by VFX.
Jake Gyllenhaal was on board the production before Duncan Jones. After seeing Moon (2009) Gyllenhaal suggested Jones as a possible director.
Beleaguered Castle, a military project code name for the unit that runs the Source Code project, takes its name from a variation on the game of solitaire.
Russell Peters did about an hour of stand-up with his own material for his scene. Because the majority of his jokes were full of adult themes and graphic language, most of them were cut because of the PG-13 rating.
"Colter Stevens: Christina, what would you do if you knew you had less than one minute to live? Christina Warren: I'd make those seconds count. Colter Stevens: I'd kiss you again. Christina Warren: Again? [he kisses her]"
"[last lines] Colter Stevens: [to Goodwin] If you're reading this e-mail, then Source Code works even better than you and Dr. Rutledge imagined. You thought you were creating eight minutes of a past event, but you're not. You've created a whole new world. Goodwin, if I'm right, somewhere at the Source Code facility, you have a Captain Colter Stevens waiting to send on a mission. Promise me you'll help him. And when you do, do me a favor. Tell him everything is going to be okay."
