Certain scenes in the film were shot in Castleknock College, an Irish rugby school in itself.
Former Leinster Rugby, Ireland and British & Irish Lions player Brian O'Driscoll helped to coordinate the scenes for the rugby match at the end of the film. His wife, Amy Huberman, played Ned's step-mother.
If you listen very carefully at the beginning of the movie, you'll here the proctor's voice off-camera telling Ned he has 90-minutes to complete his essay. Exactly 90 minutes later he reads his completed essay
"Dan Sherry: [if] You spend your whole life being someone else, WHO'S GONNA BE YOU?"
"Dan Sherry: There is no limit to what you can learn from reading."
