Although he plays the older brother, Jackson, Jason Earles was more than fifteen years older than his character, who was supposedly a teenager. Earles was twenty-nine when the show began.
Jason Earles said in an interview with Jimmy Fallon that Jackson was originally very introverted and shy and could only talk through a puppet he carried with him everywhere. While rehearsing a scene, Earles did so well that the director rethought the character.
Miley Cyrus was eleven years old when she first auditioned for the show.
Almost every episode's title references a famous song.
Mitchel Musso wore his hair below his ears throughout the show's run to hide his earrings, except for the final season, despite that he could've just took off his earrings.
"Jackson Stewart: [the beginning drum beat of the 'Hannah Montana' theme song is heard while Jackson is watching TV] Ugh! When is this show NOT ON?"
"[repeated line] Jackson Stewart: Good day. I said good day, daddy!"
