This show marks the only time Peppermint Patty says "Charlie Brown" rather than "Chuck".
Charles M. Schulz considered the arm-wrestling scene between Snoopy and Lucy the best-animated scene of all the Peanuts specials.
This is the last special where Peter Robbins voiced Charlie Brown.
When Snoopy pretends to be a bus driver, he passes by a map with references to several members of the crew, including Schulz City (for Charles M. Schulz), Levittown (for Ed Levitt, one of the animators), Gruyerberg (for Bernard Gruver, spelled wrong, another one of the animators), Leesville (for Lee Mendelson, executive producer), and Cuidad (another spelling error) de Melendez (for Bill Melendez, executive producer, director, and voice of Snoopy).
In one scene where Snoopy is in thumb wrestle training, he is seen wrestling with a yellow bird briefly. The bird is a possible prototype depiction of Woodstock who doesn't first appear in the Peanuts franchise until the feature film Snoopy Come Home (1972).
"Lucy: Look at this, a big yellow butterfly. It's unusual to see one of those at this time of year, unless of course, it flew up from Brazil. I'll bet that's it. They DO that sometimes, you know. They fly up from Brazil, and they... Linus: [interrupting] This is no butterfly, this is a potato chip. Lucy: Well, I'll be, so it is. I wonder how a potato chip got all the way up here from Brazil?"
"Linus: [after swatting a bee with his blanket that was previously after Violet] Not unlike Robin Hood."
