Rotten TomatoesJab We Met' by Imtiaz Ali is hands down one of the most romantic films of Bollywood. Imtiaz Ali never fails to pen down beautiful scripts. He knows how to convey even a simple story into the most enjoyable and interesting manner. It's a kind of film that will hold your attention from the beginning to end. Undoubtedly, one of the best films of Imtiaz Ali. The main lead and the main focus of the film, Kareen Kapoor Khan played the most iconic character of her lifetime and did full justice to it. Her dialogue delivery, expressions, acting, and style- everything was beyond perfect. It seems like that role was made for her. On the other hand, Shahid Kapoor as Aditya in the movie won the hearts of so many girls by being the perfect boy one could ever dreamt of. The chemistry between Shahid and Kareena looks fantastic on screen. One of the best things about the film is its dialogue. Those unforgettable dialogues will make you laugh out loud. The music is also great. Definitely a must watch film.

Kareena Kapoor was writer/director Imtiaz Ali's first choice for the role of Geet. Even though he wasn't particularly a fan of hers and hadn't seen her in many movies, he knew she would be able to look natural without makeup, be hyper, talkative and interesting but not irritating.
The producers had first signed Bobby Deol in 2005. The film had many working titles at the point. "Geet" was one of them. Bobby told the producers to sign Imtiaz Ali because he was very talented .The producers wanted Kareena Kapoor for the film , but Kareena refused to even meet Imtiaz Ali. That is when Bobby suggested they approach Preity Zinta. She agreed but needed six months before she could shoot. This is when Kareena told the producers she would sign the film only if they replaced Bobby Deol with her then boyfriend Shahid Kapoor . The producers agreed and replaced Bobby Deol without even informing him.
Writer/director Imtiaz Ali only settled on Shahid Kapoor for the role of Aditya after meeting him, as he previously viewed him as a "forgettable actor" before realizing that he had "gone through a lot in life and that maturity had never been brought out" and that as such he was perfect for the part of a "young, mature, quiet guy."
Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor who play lovers in the film were also dating in real life - until they broke up whilst making the movie.
Dehli's PVR Cinemas held special screenings of the film on Valentine's Day 2008 to celebrate its 100 days run at the box office.
"Geet Kaur Dhillon: [all dressed up and with a bag] I am running away. Aditya D, Kashyap: [awakened and trying to process] Geet. Don't ever do that. Okay? Geet Kaur Dhillon: I am doing it. Everything is planned. I have come to say bye to you. Aditya D, Kashyap: You are leaving NOW? As in, RIGHT NOW? Geet Kaur Dhillon: Yes. You stay here for a few days. After that, you go back home to Mumbai, okay? Aditya D, Kashyap: Hang on, hang on. You are running away and I should stay here? Geet Kaur Dhillon: So what? Aditya D, Kashyap: Tomorrow, Manjeet will spill the beans, and these people - who already think that you and I are having an affair - they will tie me to the buffalos. Geet Kaur Dhillon: Great. Then you come with me, too. Aditya D, Kashyap: If we run away together, their suspicion will be confirmed! Geet Kaur Dhillon: Big deal. What difference does that make to you? Aditya D, Kashyap: [realizing] Correct. What difference does that make to me? Geet Kaur Dhillon: Come on, let's go."
"Geet Kaur Dhillon: Mister, are you convinced or shall I say more?"
