Javed Jaffery was upset a huge part of his role was edited out. He reasoned the producers told him the film was getting very long. Javed was furious why only his role was slashed and no one else.
Sonam was signed for the film and did not show up for the mahurat . This angered Aamir Khan and he pressured the producer to drop Sonam from the film. Sonam later reasoned that she had a high fever. Sonam and Aamir would go on to have a a heated rivalry as Sonam was dropped from 2 more Aamir Khan films, Aatank Hi Aantank and Isi Ka Naam Zindagi.
Aamir Khan was angry with the director of the film. One day before the shooting began,Arun Bhatt told him about a scene that made him very uncomfortable. During the script narration the scene was not there. It was added at the last minute. Before the song "Mere Jaan Jao Naa" Aamir Khan was to talk to Javed Jaffery and teach him how to make love to his wife (which is Aamir's sister in the film !). They recorded 18 lines for Aamir to sing before the song started. When Aamir heard this he told Arun Bhatt he felt uncomfortable doing it. He was upset because he was never told about this scene. He stated that the conservative Indian audience would not accept a brother teaching his brother in law how to make love to his sister. Aamir put his foot down and the scene was eventually dropped from the film.
Last film to pair Aamir and Farha was Isi ka Naam Zindagi which had got delayed for around four years
Ekta Sohini signed the film but Aamir Khan refused to work with her. This was due to Ekaa always wearing high heels to match Aditya Pancholi's height in Awwal Number. This would bother Aamir and he would always ask Ektaa why she was doing this .
