TRIVIA

Trivia

Director D. David Morin mentions (DVD at 02:47) that Jerry Phillips (Johnny) is an adopted foster child.

At 20:58 on the DVD in the river walk scene with Dr. Carter and his wife Julia, Director D. David Morin mentions that he had to "cross the 180" during editing because they were losing light during the shoot and didn't get all of the shots they needed to keep the eye lines straight during editing, so they had to flip the film over which is evident when the mole on the left side of Dr. Carter's face changes to his right side (20:48 and 21:00) and back (21:09).

During Johnny and Kayla's amusement park montage (53:49 to 56:23), Director D. David Morin mentions it was shot at the Santa Monica pier in California, during a one day shoot of pickup shots a month after principal photography ended.

Director D. David Morin broke the standard prohibition about actors and actresses never looking directly into the lens, explaining (DVD at 18:25) that when shooting film that will be primarily viewed on personal media rather than the big screen, he shoots "tight and tighter" rather than "wide and tight", occasionally using an actor or actress looking directly into the lens for the tightest shots (at 51:19, 57:04, and 1:02:13).
