Story

The critic for The L.A. Times claimed the audience with which he saw this film repeatedly broke into laughter "when they weren't openly razzing" it.

Prior to being cast in the role with which he will forever be associated (The Man of Steel in the 1950s version of Superman) this Poverty Row pot-boiler was one of the few times perpetual screen extra George Reeves ever received top billing in anything.

The films two male leads most famous roles were comics characters - George Reeves as Superman on TV , and Ralph Byrd as Dick Tracy in a series of films and serials .

The airplane flown by the protagonists is a Capelis XC-12, an aircraft purchased by RKO pictures in 1939. By 1948, the actual aircraft was grounded, and a model was used for the in-flight shots.
