IMDb"Satavaya," a group of seven villages on India's east coast that have been submerged by the sea, served as the backdrop for the film "Kalira Atita," which was based on actual occurrences. The state government has relocated the survivors of these villages to a brand-new community called "Bagapatia." "Kalira Atita" tells the heartbreaking tale of an emotionally disturbed man named Gunu (played brilliantly by Pitobash) who, despite official warnings, travels back to his now-engulfed village in an effort to confront his horrifying past while being confronted by another super cyclone. A heartbreaking narrative of survival and an epic struggle between man and nature on a deserted shore follow, giving "Kalira Atita" a surreal feeling of heightened reality. Larger towns and other beaches should take note of what happened to "Satavaya" on the Bay of Bengal coast. There is no doubting that one of the biggest hazards to humanity is sea level rise brought on by climate change. According to several estimates, by the year 2050, cities like Mumbai, Bangkok, and Shanghai might be drowned due to the increasing sea level. Everyone must begin to see the threat as serious; otherwise, we will only have ourselves to blame for our inactivity.
