A section of the audience criticized the film's sound editing, calling it "too loud" at times. Addressing these concerns, the film's producer K.E. Gnanavelraja spoke to all the exhibitors and requested them to reduce the volume by two points to nullify the negative feedback related to loudness.
'Kanguva' was originally set to release on October 10, 2024, but was postponed so as to not clash with the Rajinikanth starrer 'Vettaiyan'. Interestingly, the title of this film is loosely borrowed from another Rajinikanth film, the 1984 Bollywood release 'Ganguvaa'
